Chapter 5 by enma
He was...?
An enemy officer, blond, blue-eyed.
Doe was an enemy officer, high-ranked and noble-born. His King had foolishly assigned him and his men to protect an enemy prince in a doomed outpost. Doomed, because it was your job to tear it down and soon they were in full retreat. Bravely, or stupidly, he held his ground against you, to allow others time to escape.
It was in the midst of the final push to victory that you came across him. He was tall and blond with blue eyes and somber, handsome features. He looked out of place almost; stained with blood and dirt. You couldn’t help but feel that he seemed more the prince than the fat slug you had sighted earlier. Nodding once in recognition of your rank and personal emblem, he made a warriors salute with his sword and attacked. You parried quickly and joined in the deadly dance, adrenaline pumping sweet thrills through your veins.
It was over far too soon for your liking, his skills impressive but no match for your own. You disarmed him with a flourish and he fell to his knees in the mud, weary and defeated. As you pressed the side of your sword to his neck, you became aware of your surroundings and the noise of your men as they cheered victoriously.
“You have your victory. Go on and kill me, ‘Demon’.” His voice was quiet but that could not hide the scorn.
You grinned mockingly down at him. “No, I’ve thought of something far more fun.” And you brought the hilt of your sword down on his skull, laying him out ****.
Now Doe is imprisoned in your private quarters awaiting your return.
Will you go straight there? Or stay and enjoy the entertainment on offer?
What shall you do?
