Chapter 24 by takacube
What's next?
Expanding the playing field
Tom picked up the plate from the buffet line as he and the other parents from the competition had been gathered to a chaperone introduction/welcome ceremony and had spent the past 2 hours going over rules, regulations, and the expectations for the team members individually as well as per school. He knew the competition was pretty big by the sheer number of kids in the group and now, with all of the parents and volunteers, he could only imagine just how expansive this type of activity was and how much it required for any school to submit. He learned from his table partners that there were several schools that had shown up with a few parents missing and falling below the requisite number of chaperones. From the looks of discussions among the officials, though, Tom was at least hopeful that the girls wouldn't be punished for something they couldn't control.
"That's the breaks, man," replied George Yost, one of the fathers who had been seated next to him at the meeting. The two men had hit it off well, George was the father of one of the girls from a neighboring school who apparently was friends with Amorina from other cheerleading comps. "You get here, you don't have enough parents, the team automatically is disqualified for the competition during roll call in the morning."
Tom nodded but continued to think about it as the dinner broke up and he walked into the conference room where the hotel assigned teams had gathered for a student orientation and practice breakdown. It took him a few moments to spot her but their waves and smiles as he approached caught his attention (not to mention some looks from the other girls in the area, a wonderful ego booster filled to the brim with Jailbait trap alarms). Amorina smiled meekly as he got there and placed a hand on the nearest team member, an Asian girl named Renee, as a reassuring gesture. "How are you girls doing?"
"We're good, Tom," chirped the vice-captain, a girl named Marcella, who positively beamed at him. The other girls traded secretive whispers and smiles as Renee, upon whose shoulder he had placed a hand on, looked halfway between becoming petrified and orgasming (probably the latter, Amorina determined). It wasn't a secret that among the girls in the group, she was the one who had it the worst for Tom but, since she had only just turned 17, there was nothing that could be done about that. "The meeting's just about done for the day."
"Good, your coach wanted you girls for a meeting in an hour, told her I'd relay the message. Do you mind if I speak with Amorina for a bit?"
She nodded and after saying good bye to the rest of the girls, he leaned in. "Sarah, wake up."
****
"That sucks."
Tom nodded as the two of them walked out of the hallway and headed towards the elevators in the lobby. "I checked, three teams all do not have enough chaperones for the competition. Two of them only need 1, the third needs three. Not sure how that happened, though."
Sarah nodded and then stopped and looked at him. "You want to help them?"
He shrugged. "You always said I was too soft for my own good. I mean, come on, you have this second chance. What about those girls?"
She nodded and patted him on the chest. "I knew you were a good man, Tom. But what do we do? We can't just magically make you a chaperone, can we?" Before he could answer, though, they noticed two of the girls from one of the schools, a smaller private school located in a town three hours away from where they live, walking out of the elevator. In particular, the two of them narrowed their attention to one of the girls. Mentally, he ran down a checklist in his head as he looked at her long enough to get a good picture but not long enough to be that creepy perving father figure.
Sarah seemed to have the same idea as when he turned she nodded at him while continuing to look at the girl. "She fits the description. Young enough to be related, Hispanic, almost a dead shot for being a cousin. Would have to be on mom's side, obviously." She then looked around at another set of girls, one of them in particular again, and nodded. "There's the other school. The blonde there, tall leggy one. She could pass off as your sister's kid. You know, Aunt Nadine?"
"I don't have a sister named Nadine."
Sarah looked at him for a moment. "That's true...but you might want to check again. I think you do. At least, as Amorina, you do." She sighed and tilted her head. "I'm not sure how but there's just a sense in me that is saying this is a way to going about getting them to stay." She sighed again and Tom palmed the coin in his hand. "Yeah, let's do it that way."
"I wish that the two girls Sarah and I looked at became our relatives, changing them to match how we want them to become..." he paused and then, unbeknownst to Sarah, finished with a slight addition, "...and that their mothers became a part of my...h-harem..." God, he hated how timid he was with that word. The coin's heat told him that it had worked.
He looked at Sarah for a moment. "So, what now?"
