BR - Balls! Part 2

Going to a club isn’t the most creative thing, but it’s better than a pub, and since it’s England you are certain that it will be fancier, better, and way less gross than clubs are in America. So it might not be the most exotic date, but a night out with Beth is great.

You aren’t sure about the part where she steals the keys to her mom’s car, but it’s pretty cool from there. Beth is bored by all this, but you’re stoked just to see a bit of England. Beth drives you to what you figure must be a neighboring down, but this one seems much bigger. It’s not a very long drive, but you kind of get that. Europe is like… really small. Like several of these countries could fit into just Florida. So everything is really close together. Convenient!

Beth takes you to the most adorable street of little shops that are all it up and cute in the evening. This town isn’t as sedate as Southam, but it still doesn’t feel like a city. Beth is acting snobbish about it, but you think it’s nice. You buy matching floral minidresses in an adorable shop with matching shoes and clutches. Beth acts almost embarrassed to do all this, but you aren’t sure why. This is shaping up to be the best date you’ve ever been on.

Shauna texts Beth constantly, and you can at least understand Beth’s frustration with that, but she ignores most of it. Soon it’s dark, you’re changed, and waiting in line with Beth outside a grungy-looking building with bass thudding away inside. Your clubbing experience is limited to three times that you went with some college friends and stayed at the bar because you were too shy to dance, but this place doesn’t seem fundamentally different from clubs back home.

It's… not fancier. But it is cool once you get inside. Music crashes your brain, making it impossible to speak or be heard, but the place has a great look. You aren’t like a décor person, but it funky style that reminds you of that Cruella movie that you liked.

So the plan to spend the night sober is shot; this kind of music is only enjoyable after a drink or two, and you aren’t very confident in your sober dancing.

Dancing with Beth is fun. She’s not shy, and she knows exactly how to drive you crazy. But something’s not right, and she knows it too. You spend very little time in the grind before you’re back at the bar for a third round.

You both feel out of place. You don’t know anybody here. Beth isn’t a fan of this club, she just picked it because it was close.

“You two don’t look to be in the spirit of things,” says a voice. You and Beth are both watching the bartender intently because where else are you going to look? You both turn to find Edna in front of you.
