Into the Lands of the Shokan

Once Mileena and Tanya got far enough away from Fort Shadow, they changed out of their disguises and back into their original outfits. As they traveled, Mileena felt the exhaustion hit her once again. The two women decided to stop and set up camp. They looked for shelter and found it in an alcove at the base of a large tree. Tanya gathered the little dry wood she could find in the swamp and started a fire as Mileena put together a hammock made from vines for a well-earned rest. Mileena quickly fell asleep as Tanya kept watch.

After a few hours of rest, Mileena woke and the two continued their journey to the Shokan lands. They traveled for days, trudging through the bog until they came upon the mountainous lands of the Shokan. The jagged lands were dark, as if scorched by fire, and the smell of sulfur lingered faintly in the air. As they traversed the shadowy domain, the two women couldn't help but feel they were being watched.

Their suspicions proved to be true when several Shokan warriors sprung out from behind the darkened rocks. The warriors resembled oversized muscular humans with dragon-like eyes, forked lizard-like tongues, reptilians scales on their backs, four arm whose hands had only three digits each, and only two digits on each foot. One of the Shokan approached the women and spoke, "You, half-breed. Tell me why you have come to our lands before we rip you apart by your limbs.

Annoyed by being called a half-breed, Mileena looked over the large Shokan man and wondered if she should make an example of him to the others watching, but before she could do anything, Tanya grabbed her arm and talked her down, "Remember, we're here to find allies, not enemies."

Mileena sighed as she looked to her lover with disappointed acknowledgement, "You are right of course." She then turned her attention back to the Shokan man, "We here looking for allies against a common enemy." Mileena spoke loudly with authority.

The Shokan man scoffed, "A common enemy? A and who might that be?"

"Princess Kitana and her soldiers. They have made their base close to your lands and and it is only a matter of time before they come to take it from you. We know that you are in a struggle of your own and we are willing to help if we are offered the same."

The Shokan man stared silently at the women for a moment before speaking again, "We will take you to our leader. She will determine if your help is worthy."

Mileena nodded, "Please, lead the way."

The women followed the large, dragon-esque man to a cave hidden in the jagged black mountains, where his leader awaited.
