They stop him

Gunn was fit, knew the city, and was running for his life. He couldn't outpace the Slayer on a straight run, but slipping through warrens and back alleys he could lose her. His head start might be enough...

So why was he on the ground, dazed? He started to stagger to his feet, but before he could get off his knees Buffy ran up and and delivered a blow of precisely measured viciousness. Gunn slumped to the ground ****. Buffy hauled up his limp form and carried him back to the hotel.

"Get that, Anya" she instructed. The ex-demon walked over to where Gunn had collapsed and picked up the melted taser that Buffy had thrown at Gunn's head. While it no longer held an electric charge, the plastic and metal still made it as effective as a rock when hurled at someone's head.

"Sentimental value?" Anya asked with a smirk as she picked up what was after all all that remained of Angel.

"As if," Buffy replied contemptuously. "Willow said 'get over him' so I'm over him. But there's no way I'm passing up something that reminds my sister what a fuck-up she is."

Anya nodded approvingly as she walked back into the hotel. **** she understood.
