Definitely not, although I could hide and surprise whoever set this obvious trap.

Only an idiot would fall for such an obvious trap. Scouting around you see a bush which could give you a good vantage point of the cart and anyone who dares to come close to it. In a half crouch walk you stealthily conceal yourself within the bush and keep guard over the cart, aware enough to jump at a moments notice at any intruder.

You wait around for a few hours and start to suspect that this wasn't a trap and maybe the merchant had ridden back the way he came until suddenly you hear a rustling on the other side of the road. You quickly survey the area for the source of the sound and see a small goblin coming out of the bushes, walking irritably towards the cart. Looking her over you could tell she stood at a very short 3 foot 2" with skin as green as the grass in spring, her body covered in tight tattered rags that barely hid an inch of skin. Her short stature did not make her unsightly, but highlighted the voluptuous curves of her hips and buttocks. Her breasts would fill a big man's hands and her long brown hair tied in pigtails with her small button nose would give the impression of innocence, if it was not for her calculating yellow eyes and menacing scowl she directed at the wagon still unspoiled. With a quick wave of her hand the cart and all its contents became shimmering air like a mirage and disappeared into nothingness, replaced by a stump upon which a small woven basket filled with roasted hams, a roll of cheese and a single amphora of wine stood. She walked over to the basket and placed it on the floor before sitting on the stump with a rather annoyed look on her face.

The way she is sitting on the stump, it would be hard to get to her before she noticed your presence. This may very well turn into a chase, but then again with her short legs and slight frame you could easily overtake her.
