Chapter 14 by Manbear Manbear

Who is she?

Ceinwyn, a druid with bad news.

"My name is Ceinwyn ap Doranne." Her voice is formal, a little stronger than before and more musical as well. "I can speak little of my mission, but I am headed for the Elven city of Elohin with news from Elderdale, home of the Druids."

"That is where I go next!" You told the young druid eagerly "To seek the aide of the Druids with understanding this." Holding the dull stone in the palm of your hand you extend it for Ceinwyn to see. "It's called the Shining Stone, and my village elder entrusted it to me to turn back the Reptilian horde."

"How does it work?" Asked Ceinwyn and you felt a wave of panic chill your growing optimism.

"I was hoping you would tell me." Forcing a smile to hide the disappointment you felt you added optimistically "No matter, I need to take Tri'lanna here back to the elven city, but once she is safe perhaps you can guide me to Elderdale and I can speak to the Druid loremasters.

This time it was Ceinwyn whose resolve broke. "They're dead!" Her poise crumbled as she spoke. "All dead except for me." The slender woman's knees buckled as she spoke and you had to catch her as she swayed dangerously close to the small fire. You held the Druid in your arms comforting her as best you could while her body convulsed in great heaves against you. Awkwardly stroking her hair as she wept you held her soft body firmly against yours. You tried not to take advantage of the young woman, but the feel of her plump breasts and firm thighs pressed against you was more than you could take. Gently you lowered the druid to the canvas tarp and sat beside her holding her gently around her shoulders and let her tell her story.

It took nearly half an hour, but through her tearful gasps you gradually put together the tale of disaster that befell the holy Druid valley. An army even larger than the one that landed on your corner of the isle descended from the mountains in endless waves of goblins and orcs bolstered by the dark magic of the lizzardmen that finally overwhelmed the druids own defenses.

"They knew exactly what they were doing! Every defensive spell we had was broken with a specific counterspell." She paused reaching into her small satchel, "I don't think we were the only target either." Ceinwyn pulled out a small rolled map and showed several red X's that marked the Island of the Seven Stones, "I found this on one of the lizzardman corpses."

"My mentor, Loremaster Derreth hid me from the onslaught and would not let me join the fight. He instructed me to carry news of our fall to the elves in Elohin so they would understand the threat the Seven Ilses are facing.

Sitting quietly side by side Ceinwyn directed her attention to Tri'lanna. The elf maid was braiding strands of mountain grass together into intricate laces and cords as you and the Druid spoke seemingly uninterested in either Ceinwyn's obvious grief or the cause of her distress.

"She was like this when I rescued her from a trio of goblin slavers. She acts like a child or simpleton, but still can do this..." You lift a woven band of twisted grass that is as wide as your palm and twice as long. "...and she seems to have all of her fighting and woodland skills."

"I've seen this before." Ceinwyn seems more confident than before. "Goblin mages use these glyphs to weaken the minds of their captives. I am surprised they were able to apply the rune to her arm, but once the magic is applied this warrior had no chance."

"Can you fix her?" You ask eagerly.

"Perhaps. Let me sleep on it, and I'll see what I can do in the morning."

Once again you lie back on the mattress of dried grass, this time with two beautiful women pressed against you. Ceinwyn's body was curvier than Tri'lanna's but they were both lovely, each in their own way. This time when you close your eyes sleep finds you easily.

Does the rest of the night pass peacefully?
