Chapter 14
by SchlockTheMonkey
How does Margaret react?
She decides to help Doris.
Margaret stared in utter shock. This was not at all what she'd imagined. Breaking out of her stupor, Margaret came out from behind the counter with a damp rag and started to help clean the other girl up. She'd never much liked the girl, but no one deserved this. It reminded Margaret all too much of her own nightmares about coming out.
"But... but we love each other," Doris said, and began to cry harder.
Margaret began to pick up shards of glass from the shattered sugar dispenser, and noticed one embedded in the blonde's hand. Doris was far too focused on her emotional distress to notice simple physical pain, and didn't react at all when Margaret pulled the shard from her hand. Margaret focused, and the wound vanished.
"Calm down, sweetie," she instructed, and Doris's sobs subsided. Whatever the ring's limitation was, it didn't apply here.
Does Margaret have a theory yet about the ring's power?
