Another close call.

Alexa was in a near full-blown panic as she practically ran from Vinny’s hotel room to Astryd’s. She was wearing her friend’s nightie but was leaking cum rapidly and must have looked a right mess. If anyone was to see her like this she would be completely and utterly sprung. The poor alibi they had time to make didn’t account for her to be running through the hotel corridors.

Arriving at the door to Astryd’s room, Alexa slid the keycard into the magnetic lock and tried to open it. The light flashed from red to green but the door handle wouldn’t turn. Alexa could make out voices down the hallway and around the corner. She tried the card again and still it didn’t work. Her panic was beginning to get even higher still as Alexa could hear the voices coming closer and closer as she tried to enter the safety of her friend’s room.

Just as the people were about to come around the bend and into view the lock clicked and Alexa burst into the room unseen!

Daniel made his way to Astryd’s room following the exact same path that Alexa had taken. He was later than her, trailing several minutes behind his wife. Coming to the door, he paused before knocking. What would he find inside? He felt guilt and shame that he’d expected to find her in Vincent’s room. Small rumours and comments had reached his ears over the years he’d been with Alexa. How close of friends Vinny and Alexa were. How they looked so cute together. How people were surprised to find Alexa was dating Daniel instead.

“Alexa, honey? It’s me, Daniel,” he called out through the door tentatively when his first knock hadn’t been answered.

He felt his heart settle at last when a response came, “I’m coming. One minute.”

The door opened and Alexa answered Daniel in a long white bath towel. Another was around her wet hair. At getting back to Astryd’s room reeking of sex and spilling cum like a ruptured oil tanker, Alexa had hopped immediately into the shower wash off.

“Thank God, I found you,” Daniel rushed in to hug her.

“Oh, I’m sorry sweetie. I came here after taking my walk and I must have fallen asleep,” Alexa said as she leaned up to give her husband a kiss on the lips. Her lips that had so recently been kissing Vinny.

“I’m surprised you’d do that without Astryd,” he commented.

“She went out to meet someone and yeah I must have just dozed off when I put my head down for a moment,” Alexa lied.

“Yeah, I know. Vincent. I just came from there,” Daniel agreed.

“Wait,” Alexa said pushing herself back from hugging Daniel. “Why did you go there to look for me?”

“I didn’t!” Daniel protested. “I was worried when you didn’t come back last night and I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”

“And the first place you thought to find me is what? In Vincent’s bed.”

Daniel could see that Alexa was getting angry. He hadn’t been accusing her but said something wrong. He was getting mad himself. She was the one that had walked out on their wedding night. He shouldn’t have to be defending his behaviour over this.

“I’m not! You’re the one that didn’t come back.” Daniel’s voice was getting close to a yell.

“And catching me fucking Vinny is what you imagined I was doing? Would that have made you happy? To walk in on me and Vincent in bed together?”

People were starting to come out of their rooms and into the hallway as the newly married couple continued their shouting match.

While Vinny showered, Astryd had found Alexa’s discarded clothes from the night before and put them on. She’d given what she was wearing to Alexa and had nothing else to wear otherwise. When Vinny got out of the shower she’d have to go down to the reception and get another key to her room to change. Astryd didn’t have her phone on her and neither did Alexa or this whole mess could have been avoided. She’d have to catch up with Alexa as soon as could be and get what each other had said straight.

Sometime later Vinny came out of the bathroom wearing a towel. Astryd turned her back to him while he got dressed. A mirror on the wall in front of where she was facing gave her a full view of the boxer getting dressed.

As he picked out what to wear, Astryd spoke, “I think we should stick together for now. Just until I hear from Alexa and find out how it went with Daniel.”

“That’s a good idea,” Vinny agreed.

“We should probably act kind of ‘couple-y’. Help give her cover after what’s meant to have gone here. With us.”

Vinny turned to face Astryd in just a pair of jeans. “That sounds like an even better idea.” He was smiling and their eyes meet in the mirror, catching Astryd out in looking at Vincent as he got dressed.

“Asshole! Uck. Get dressed,” she frowned, shaking her head at him.

Vinny just laughed and continued dressing.

Astryd could see what Alexa found in him. He was handsome. Arrogant but in a way that seemed charming. Definitely confident and cock-sure of himself. A girl could really respond to that. Hell, she’d reacted to it herself. She’d only been naked with him in bed for 10 minutes but she’d gotten wetter than she had in a long while.

The two of them remained together as planned, hoping to run into Alexa. They’d gone to fetch her key and Astryd took her turn to shower. She found Vinny picking up some clothes she’d left out when she got out of the bathroom.

“This looks good,” he said holding up a short but pretty summer dress.

Astryd had snatched it off Vinny and told him not to go through her things but she had worn it anyway.

They’d had breakfast together and then explored more of the hotel’s sites that morning. Running into some of the others in the bridal party. Word had circulated of Alexa and Daniels row that morning. Everyone seemed to be walking on eggshells at what would happen between them.

It was until lunchtime that day in the hotel’s main restaurant that Astryd and Vinny finally bumped into Alexa. She was seated at a table alone, the barely picked over remains of a salad in front of her. On seeing the two of them enter, Alexa had waved and signalled for them to join her. They made their way to her quickly and sat down. Astryd next to Alexa and Vinny opposite the bride.

No one was in earshot when Astryd asked whispering, “how did it go?”
