Chapter 31 by GenocideHeart

What happens next?

A plan and a destination

"So, this is where things stand." Tri'lanna says, "Vanarim, the Great Pretender, is, or rather was, a man who sacrificed his firstborn son to access the Akashic Records and gain immense magical talent. He seeks to open the Records a second time so that he can complete his ascent to Godhood. For reasons still not known to you or I, this involves marching on all the free-thinking races on the Island of Seven Stones. He has already struck first, destroying outlying villages and completely wiping out the Druids. And while I don't know how each side will react to these events, this much I know for certain: War is coming to the island, like a great flood. No dams will be able to stop it, and everyone will be swept up in its torrent."

"So?" The elfmaid turns to you, gazing at you seriously, "What's the plan, O wise leader?"

"What?" You say, confused.

"You, Hans. You. What are you going to do?" She says, "You saved me and restored my mind. I have access to more information on Vanarim and his plans than any other person on the island. You have the last of the Druids by your side. She is the last true witness to the events in the Druid's valley. And most of all, you carry the Shining Stone. The last, and most mysterious piece to this puzzle."

"So I ask you again: What. Are. You. Going. To do?"

There's something there, behind her words. What she seems to be questioning is yourself, your very nature and the thing that drives you. She wants more than just an answer from you, but you can only answer with what you know. And the only thing you know is your quest.

"The Shining Stone. I need to know what the Shining Stone is." You answer.

"So be it." Tri'lanna replies in a slightly unsatisfied tone. "If we go to my home, I should be able to find answers there. Or at least directions to find those answers."

Curious, you ask where her home is, and she tells you.

The rest of the morning passes quickly as you, Tri'lanna, and Ceinwyn gather all your belongings and prepare to set out. The young druid spends a brief moment alone, saying her final farewells to her home for eighteen years, and then rejoins you almost immediately. By early afternoon, you are travelling again, westwards towards the Dragon's Spine.

The destination? Elohin. Tri'lanna's home and the citadel of the Elves.
