He pulled out his smartphone and typed at once.

"What if no one noticed when I used the app."

"What if I, could change the physical age, but it would be completely normal for outsiders",

when he finished, he asked them both what they thought about being 20 years younger, without it seeming strange to anyone else.

Now they both started laughing. And Liam just replied, "Like that would work. Are you kidding me?"

He tapered them both off by 20 years and then told them to look at each other before they started laughing at him. They both looked at each other and immediately fell silent. Camila immediately jumped up and ran out of the room. After Carl heard the opening of some doors, everyone could hear a cry of joy. Liam, meanwhile, looked at his hands and arms and his grin grew wider.

"Like, ..., how is this possible, Celina looks like she did 20 years ago, and I still feel like that. I could probably pull out trees," Liam said, rather perplexed but pleased. Velvet also started to smile, she was obviously pleased that Carl gave her parents such a gift.

Then Camila came running into the room and stopped next to Liam, obviously the initial joy had subsided.

"If you can do that, how can I be confident that you will treat my daughter well. You could do something else to her and make her forget it if you can change our age." she drove at him half loudly, not knowing what else he was capable of.

"If I did or would, I don't think I would have bothered to come by here and talk business with you. Then I would just take it. I'm offering this to you because Velvet, for one, was and is a good employee and because she was honest with me once I brought it up to her. And I just found out this morning, anyway, that it went the way it did."

Now Velvet joined in, "Yes I do tell you some things about work and myyy...., Carl has always been fair and not just to me but to all the employees. And I truly told him about it this morning."

That didn't go quite as Carl had hoped, although that was actually foreseeable, if he didn't get out the normal way he would have to use the app in case of doubt. He still had hope that he could get out of the story this way.

The parents were silent again and their glances swung back and forth between Carl, Velvet and each other.

"I can understand that this situation is upsetting, but I am up to no harm, toward you or your circle of acquaintances. I just want to rid you of Phillip and make a good deal with you. I'm not that altruistic, either. The only thing I'd like is a share in your winery."
