Training and texting

"Hey Carmen" you said as you saw her later next week at volleyball practice.

"Hi!" she said chipperly. The other girls of her team giggled. You saw Aria, Rose, and a few others who had also bid on you: Alexandra, Aurora, and Sarah.

"Guess I'm still popular, huh?" you asked.

"You have no idea. All of these girls asked me how our date went" Carmen replied. With a look at the other girls who were pretending, badly, not to look at the two of you, you smiled.

"What did you tell them?" you said.

"The truth. We had a wonderful date and you were a perfect gentleman. Other than the nurse outfit" she replied, whispering the last part.

"I feel that that was only fair, given how you insisted on seeing me without a shirt" you told her in a low voice. At this, Carmen smiled.

"You know what? You are right. That was fair. That doesn't mean I didn't like it, though" Carmen said.

Suddenly a voice called. "Hey, Dodson! If you're done chatting with your boyfriend, do you think you could be bothered to join us for practice?" said coach Billingsley. Her cheeks went red and she immediately called back:

"Coming, coach!" then to you she said: "We'll talk later. Are you staying or can I text you?"

"I'll go home if you don't mind" you told her. She nodded and smiled before running to her team. Just as you turned to leave you could her her teammates laugh as Carmen said "He's not my boyfriend!"

'Sorry about coach Billingsley' was the first text you got.

'That's fine. He's a little insensitive sometimes, I know that' you replied.

'I think he's just grumpy Laurie didn't win the auction. I bet he wanted you as his son-in-law' came Carmen's reply. You laughed out loud then started typing a reply.

'You think so?' you asked, thinking of the big-boobed blonde that had also hoped to win a date with you.

'Yeah. For sure. You're in pretty high demand, you know' Carmen said.

'I could tell. I didn't know women could be that shallow' you said. Just to make sure she knew you were joking, you added a :p.

'Urgh don't get me started. Girls like Aria or Debbie will go to their knees for anybody who will give them the time of day' Carmen said. 'Me, however...'

'You, however, what?' you asked.

'I required to be properly wined and dined before I'll even think of kissing anybody' she replied.

'Then what about your mom and dad? They saw you kissing me' you pointed out. At this she sent a laughing emoji.

'I meant kissing on the mouth. A friendly kiss on the cheek thanking you for a nice date is fine' Carmen told you.

'Then what about your parents?' you asked.

'My mom thought it was a bit much for the first date. My dad, however...' Carmen didn't finish her sentence.

'Is he responsible for the Latin half of you?' you asked.

'And how. He thought you should have grabbed me and kissed me right on the lips' came the reply.

You laughed again and shook your head. 'Should I have?' you asked.

'Hell no. I probably would've slapped you. I told you, more dates are required' Carmen said.

'Alright, alright' you sent her. 'How about tomorrow night?' you asked.

'You're really angling for that kiss, aren't you?' Carmen said.

'Hey, you're pretty, alright?' you said.

'Who's shallow now?' Carmen said followed by a :p of her own.

'Alright, I admit it. I would most likely not picked you if you hadn't been as attractive' you confessed.

'Thank you for the honesty. Tomorrow night will do just fine.'
