Pleasing Xander

3rd person POV

"I think the best thing would be if I focus on Xander," Buffy said. "I think the idea of me, um..."

"Making Xander happy," Cordelia suggested.

"Yes, that would drive Angel crazy."

"I'm sure it will. Okay, I think we better start with some jaw stretching exercises. If you're going to..."

"No!" Willow protested. "I mean, if you want to play mind games, don't you need to build up to it. Really let it sink in?"

"I think Willow is right," Buffy replied, though she subconsciously ran a hand over her jaw picturing what Cordelia was talking about. "Let's go a little slower."

"Right, slower," Willow said as she got up. "So Xander is meeting us at the Bronze. Dancing?"

"I could do dancing. I just need to wear something sexy."

"Great, clothes," Willow said as she headed into Buffy's closet.

"This will have to be something that makes it clear to Angel that you dressed up for Xander. I have just the idea," Cordelia said as she looked back at Buffy, "you should probably do the jaw exercises anyway."

"I look ridiculous," Buffy murmured.

"You've worn it before. Trust me, Xander likes it," Cordelia said. "Especially on you."

Buffy blushed a little, "Are you going to go in first and tell him the plan?"

"No. He shouldn't know. Not yet."

"But..."

"Xander is a horrible actor. I remember the talent show. There's a chance Angel is in there."

"He's going to realize something is up. Why would I be wearing this?"

Cordelia shook his head, "Men constantly think their fantasies are going to come true. Go in and have a sexy dance with my boyfriend."

"Right. Um, is this going to cause a problem between..."

"Us? Or do you mean you and Willow? Yeah, obviously it's going to create some issues, but keeping Angel from murdering us all is still the priority."

"Right. Well, here I go."

Cordelia starred as Buffy sat frozen in her seat, "You haven't actually left my car yet."

Buffy nodded her head, "Yeah, just give me a few moments."

Xander took a sip of his drink as he nodded along with the music. He had been expecting the girls by now, but them being late was not unusual.

"Hey, Xand," he heard behind him.

"Hey Buff, glad to see..." Xander said as he turned to face her. "Um, it is Buffy right?"

Buffy grabbed her skirt and did a little twirl, "Don't you like?"

"I do," Xander said as he looked her over. She was wearing the Sunnydale cheerleading outfit. Something Cordelia refused to put on for him when they went on dates. "Just, not expecting it. Has something changed or..."

"What, a girl can't dress up like a cheerleader for her sexy friend?"

"Sexy?" Xander murmured, his mouth barely functioning.

"Come on," Buffy said as she grabbed his hand and pulled him onto the dance floor.

From the shadows Angelus watched Buffy dance with Xander. They had danced before. Friendly dancing. But this was different. Grinding. Even sexier than when she had tried to upset his souled half.

A small part of his brain was telling him something was up. Buffy wasn't over him. She was under a spell. Like Dru had been.

There had to be a reason for this.

He growled as Buffy began to rub her ass into Xander's groin. Her skirt had ridden up and so there was very little material separating the two of them.

He told himself to leave.

But he couldn't. He turned back to watch.

"I wasn't sure if Angel was there," Buffy said. "So, I um, ended up doing six dances with Xander before I spotted him."

"Right, he was in a daze this morning," Cordelia said as she looked over Buffy. The blonde was idly swaying her hips as if still dancing. "You seem to be as well."

"What? No, just, it's unusual," Buffy murmured. "Do you think it worked?"

"We're just getting started," Cordelia told her. "He'll be stalking you now."

"Great, fun."

"Well, it's what we need. He'll be looking for any sign that something is up. Do you still do that thing where you loudly talk by an open window?"

"What? That's not..."

"So you do. He'll want to listen in. Have Willow come over for a girl heart to heart. Really lay out why you are into Xander."

"How am I supposed to do that?"

Cordelia smiled, "I've already thought of that. I see two approaches..."

A) Say that Xander is adventurous and you think he'll be willing to do things Angel wasn't (8)

B) Say that since Xander started dating Cordelia, you realized what you were missing (15)
