Chapter 4
by Spars2023
Skip to the town nearest the border, or remember your (mostly boring) trip?
Remember your journey
You’d been riding for two days and were about a quarter of the way to the harpy colony, when you decided to stop for the evening at a nice inn, instead of camping outside of town. Your stomach happily agreed, as it was a bit tired of dried meat and whatever fruits and vegetables you could forage.
Your purse was perilously light, but an evening at a nice inn and a warm meal wasn’t quite beyond your means, without dipping into your newly re-established cash backup. The provincial capital of Flaresh was where you stopped and the inn was the Dancing Dragon. You’d never been to the town, or the inn.
The inn was quite a nice one and after a few minutes of dickering (not like that, pervert) you managed to get a good deal on the room and a warm meal, that was surprisingly tasty, for Dedicaran fare. With your belly full, your horse stabled and your goods safely locked away, you had a couple of options. There was a temptation to go for a walk, maybe just to help your food digest, or maybe to go looking for a little…companionship. Your purse wasn’t so light that you couldn’t afford some pussy. Another part of you longed for a bath, you could have sworn you’d seen a bathhouse on your way to the Dancing Dragon. The nice, vermin-free bed upstairs was also busy calling to you.
Where did you go?
Path to a Kingdom, or More.
Ruthlessness is the Path to Power.
