Helina and Sado manoeuvred the police cruiser into orbit above Jawen and initiated a sensor sweep. They could have landed the cruiser but it was easier to orbit and then use the smaller shuttle. The sensor sweep was completed, and with no life, signs detected they decided to head down to the planet. They headed to the shuttle and Sado sealed the hatch and released the docking clamps and they were on their way down to the surface. Sensors had detected a large metal object near a large water mass so that's where they were headed. Dropping through the atmosphere they cleared the clout cover into bright light from the sun.

Skimming across the surface of the planet they eventually turned northeast and followed the shore of what seemed to be a lake. The water was smooth and looking out of the window of the shuttle Helina could see that the sparse woodland tree was still so no wind. They eventually came to the metal mass and could see it was a ship with its forward section buried in the soil. Sado set the shuttle down close to the wreck and checked the outside atmosphere for pathogens but it came back clear. Helina cycled the hatch and they took their weapons belt and toches heading to the crashed ship.

They walked around the ship until they came to a damaged hatch and entered the ship using their torches to illuminate the interior. They worked their way forward heading for the bridge. The sensors had been right there were no signs of life but they did find discarded uniforms laying on the deck. Sado did a scan and noted that there were keratin traces at the collar, wrist and ankles of the uniforms. They both knew that the keratin made up human hair and nails. Sado interjected that the uniforms had not been discarded but these were what was left of the crew.

Helina decided that they should split up and search the ship. Helina headed for the mess deck and galley while Sado made her way to the bridge. After searching and discovering more empty uniforms they met up where they had come in and Sado had found some evidence that needed to be analysed. Helina sent Sado back to the shuttle and she continued to search the ship as there was still the cargo hold to check. She headed down the corridor towards the rear hold and was apprehensive when she saw the damaged door. It looked like it had been shredded from the other side.

Lurking in the shadows was a figure watching Helina as she approached the door. Its appendages rested while its red eyes stared watching as Helina entered the hold. Helina could not shake off the feeling of being watched so she checked her sensor and it was blank. She ridiculed herself for being such a scaredy-cat and used her torch to light up the hold. It was empty except for a steel box in the corner which had been ripped open. As Helina was scanning the hold she felt something land on her shoulder and shrieked spinning around to face her attacker and laughed when she a loose cable. The cable had fallen from a damaged panel and hit her.

She returned her scrutiny to the hold and moved closer to the steel box looking inside and seeing nothing of interest. The shadowy figure moved closer and lifted one of its eight appendages. It swung down and Helina felt a stinging sensation course through her body until she collapsed. When she came round she found herself naked laying on the ground suffering from a severe headache. She tried to rise but found she was somehow stuck to the floor then she realized that her limbs and body seem to be wrapped together. She sensed movement to her right and could just make out a creature.
