Prepare For Lunch

So anyways, Finn and Itzel headed out to the Crabway Beach, and as they walked, Itzel talked a lot about how much he hated catching crabs, but Finn was distracted with the beautiful environment around him. He had explored a good portion of the island in all the years he had lived here, and even then, he was still amazed by the gorgeous hills and trees that surrounded the village. It was a pleasant place to live, but they had to be careful when they got to the beach.

"Ok, grab that spear and go to the left side, I'll try to scare them off to you and then you can catch them..." - Finn ordered Itzel to do, he was a little confused at first, so Finn had to point out where he had to stand to catch the crabs, he got in position, and they started catching crabs.

Not really, because even though Finn did a masterful job at scaring the crabs away, Itzel couldn't catch any single one of them, he always missed hitting them with the spear, so they weren't doing a good job. It was then, when Finn realized he had to do the catching, and Itzel had to scare the crabs, so they switched places, and it turned out to be much better than them. They started catching a few crabs at first, then a lot, and soon enough they had more than necessary, so they relaxed, and started talking while catching more crabs.

"So tell me... what are you going to do with Zoey" - Itzel asked Finn, as he knew there was something going on between the two lovebirds for a long time.

"What do you mean?" - Finn replied, as he was going to try to ignore his question, or brush it off, but Itzel was known for being persistent, so he was probably going to talk about the topic repeatedly.

"I mean that you two have been flirting for months and you still aren't dating or anything..." - Itzel said bluntly, which caught Finn off guard, and got him a little nervous.

"Why would we be dating? We are just friends so I don't know what you are talking about..." - Finn said nervously, he almost stuttered, and that made Itzel skeptical.

"Suuuuuure...." - Itzel said slowly, showing a little bit of sarcasm. He knew very well that Finn and Zoey liked each other, it was obvious, but he felt like he shouldn't get in the way of them, and to not embarrass Finn any further, he wasn't going to insist in talking about the topic... but that didn't mean he wasn't going to joke about it a little more though...

"I'm just saying that you two seem to have some nice chemistry, you make a cute couple, you really do... and also we have a big problem with low population so you two could help bring some new people to the village, you know?" - Itzel said jokingly, which made Finn flush from embarrassment, he then quickly shoved him away playfully, and Itzel laughed at his reaction.

"You don't know what you are talking about! You don't even know about chemistry, even Lilith knows more magic than you do!" - Finn exclaimed teasingly, and the both friends started laughing. It was another funny moment they shared, but was interrupted by a savage crab pinching Itzel's foot, which somehow made things even funnier for the both of them.

After having a couple laughs, the two of them returned to the village, with a bucket full of crabs, since they managed to catch 17, and that was more than enough for lunch, so they were happy. They actually spent an hour and a half catching crabs and talking, mainly because when they got to the village, Itzel dropped the bucket of crabs, and they had to run around trying to find them. Thankfully they found all of them, and brought the bucket to Faranne, who was grilling some delicious meat at the village park.

Faranne thanked the both of them when they brought her more than enough crabs for lunch, she petted Itzel's head, which he always loved, and Finn got a nice kiss on the forehead. Lilith and Zoey were also there, chatting with Faranne, as she continued to cook. But since lunch was not going to be ready until one more hour, in the meanwhile Itzel and Finn joined the conversation, and started chatting with the girls.

Finally, after a hungry hour, lunch was ready, they all went to sit on a large table near the middle of the park, the tall trees created a nice shadow over them, and they all started eating a delicious lunch. Faranne is a really good cook, so she knew what to do with the crabs, she used them to create the perfect stew, and with a few vegetables those crabs were going to taste incredible, which they did. Everyone enjoyed the meal, and complimented her for her cooking skills, as they continued to chit chat. Everyone was having a good time, eating tasty food, while they chatted about whatever. Finn brought up the little incident Itzel had with the crab before, and everyone laughed, right as they were about to finish their meals. But out of nowhere the fun stopped, no one got the chance to finish their lunch, as the convivial mood turned into a suspenseful one...

A loud explosion was heard by everyone, while they were still eating and sharing their lunch. It came from the woods, and at first Lilith suggested it was just a lightning strike, and that no one should worry, but after they realized that it didn't make sense, they started to worry.

"Everyone stay here..." - Faranne commanded, as she stood up, and tried to remain calm. But Zoey also stood up, very quickly, clearly startled, but for one reason she had in her mind.

"You think those could be goblins?" - Zoey asked in confusion, not really sure of the source of the sound, but suspecting what it could be.

"I don't know, it could be possible..." - Finn replied, as he was also trying to remain calm, but he actually feared that they were under attack. Faranne again ordered everyone to stay seated, and just wait, but then a scream came from the same direction, after what seemed like a big tree falling.

"Oh they activated it!! They activated our trap!!" - Lilith shouted cheerfully, but no one could make sense of what she said.

"What trap?" - Zoey asked in greater confusion.

"Our trap! Itzel and I went to the forest one day and set up a couple traps with logs, they must have activated it!!" - Lilith explained, and Itzel nodded nervously to back her up. And in that shocking moment, they all realized that they might be under a goblin attack.

"Alright, you all know what to do... Finn, Zoey, grab your swords and prepare for battle... Lilith, come with me... and Itzel, just hide and wait for us, grab something to defend yourself but don't come out, is too risky for you" - Faranne said with authority, everyone listened and followed her orders, and the only one that didn't seem too pleased was Itzel, who frowned when she ordered him to hide like a coward, because he wasn't capable to fight. He wanted to participate in this battle, and help his friends out, but he quickly realized that it was probably the best idea to just hide, and not get himself hurt.
