Chapter 81 by kiahoga kiahoga

whats next for the Holiday.

Pre cookout prep

Getting out of bed, Lili disappeared into her room while you grabbed some fresh boxers and some sweats.

You were about to get dressed when you stopped. It occured to you that you probably reeked of sex so instead, you head into the bathroom to take a quick shower.

The hot water pouded your skin as you soaped up. When the house had been built in the 50s, they installed a shower stall in the master bath, but the front only had a tub. You were considering whether to have a pumber install a shower head in the other bathroom when you realized something was out of place.

Looking left, you saw that Krystals shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were on the window ledge. You knew for fact she normally kept it in her room and only brought it out to bathe.

Did she.... you think to yourself before shaking your head. She probably was just really tired she had gone to bed right after showering after all. You were rinsing off when the smell of cooking bacon tickled your nose. Your stomach rumbled, reminding you that it hungred. Refreshed, you got out of the shower and dried off.

You put on boxers and sweats, and you fish out a t-shirt. Your nephew Hayden got you a couple of years ago, proclaiming you were "better with butter."

Leaving the bedroom, you passed down the hallway coming into the living room. Looking into the kitchen, you saw Sunyi frying up some bacon to go with some scrambled eggs she'd prepared.

"That smells great," you remark.

Sunyi looks over at you quietly, saying,"Thank you, Jason. If you sit down, I'll serve you momentarily."

"You don't need to wait on me," you gently protest.

The tiny woman says nothing for a minute before saying,"But I need to." Turning off the flame, she was depositing the xooked bacon onto a plate. "You've taken in me and my daughter," She continued, "my whole life, I've served the head of the household, and that's now you."

Sunyi brimgs out two plates, one with several pieces of toast with sides of butter and jelly. The other had heaps of bacon and eggs. Placing them on the table, she asks you,"How would you like your coffee?"

"Black," you tell her.

She goes back into the kitchen and starts a pit of coffee. While it was brewing, she came back out bearing four plates and silverware. Placing it on the table, she goes into the hallway where you hear her knock on Lili and Krystals doors telling them breakfast was ready.

Coming back from the hallway, Sunyi reentered the kitchen, retrieving the coffee pot and two mugs. Lili then drifted into the livingroom she was wearing some shorts that were so tight you could swear they were painted on. She also had on a tank top that was short enough it showed off the belly you had blasted a load into that morning.

Lili saw where you were looking and ducked her head saying,"Goodmorning."

Your reply was cut off as Krystal came bounding into the room, greeting you with a kiss on the cheek saying,"Goodmorning uncle Jason."

The four of you sit down to share breakfast. Lili and Krystal were doing most of the talking as Lili gave Krystal the lowdown on Tempest high. Sunyi was quietly watching everything, but you. Ould see her eyes constantly coming back to the Titanium collar that lili was wearing. The bruising from where she'd been smacked wasn't quiet as ghastly as it was yesterday.

You were savoring your coffee when Krystal asked,"Im curious, Uncle Jason, why did you never get married?""

You were surprised, not by the question, but by the fact Krystal was asking it. The whole family knew the whys and why nots of your life.

Taking a sip, you say,"Well, your grandmother and Aunt needed a lot of care, and as oldest, it was up to me to take care of them." You take another sip,"I tried dating a couple of times, but..."

You dont say anything else as you wonder what Krystal was up to. Eventually, you finish your breakfast and tell the table,"i'll be out back making sure everything is ready for the cookout."

Getting up, you head into the kitchen, opening the sliding door to out back. When your home had been built in the 1950s, lot sizes had been bigger. Your home stood on 3/4 of an acre with most of that in the backyard. Looking around you could help but feel disappointed with yourself. You had not kept the yard as well maintained as your grandfather had, and it was overgrown. Still, though, it had the two big shade trees even if they needed a trim with the tire swing still hanging from the left one.

Looking at the sky you saw, it was mostly cloudy, and you could see some rainclouds. That tracked with the forecasted 40% chance of rain you think to yourself. Heading over to the door, you extend the awning you had installed several hears ago. With that done, you checked the brick lined BBQ you grandfather had built when you were a kid. Opening up the metal lid, you smiled. Lucky you, at some point you had emptied out the charcoal ash. You roll your shoulders, all your tasks done, and you head inside.

Impromptu party time.
