Chapter 10 by brevdravis brevdravis

Restless night...

Post-workout crash...

"If I never see a Tatami again, it will be too soon..." Robin groaned, grabbing the black bag with the Dojo logo on it out of Lauren's Car. You had to love a woman like Lauren, Robin reflected. Works hard, helps with the kids when she can, and downright incredible in bed. However, he was sore as hell. Nothing like taking a few dozen falls to make you feel both alive and achy all at once.

"Awww... Poor Baby... Do you need cuddles to make it better?" Lauren laughed as Robin kissed her goodbye through the window. "So, don't forget, Friday, My Place... do we need to stop for anything before we get home, because I'm not going out again?"

"Nope, I think we're good." Robin nodded to his eldest daughter as she grabbed the bag from his hand. "Thanks Miranda..." The two teens immediately crossed the street, heading into the rear right unit of the large duplex complex. He turned back and kissed his girlfriend again. Long and deep. The sound of a car horn behind them finally interrupted the action, and he rapidly tapped his hand twice on the side of the small SUV before stepping back.

"Love you..." He smiled at her, waving his hand. Lauren waved back, before driving on down the road, followed by an Irate gentleman in a gold accented Chrysler who gave Robin the finger.

"Love you too man..." He waved back, spinning on the balls of his toes. Gotta love sandals, because doing that in sneakers always wore them out in a weird pattern. Plus sneakers tended to get in the way of the anklets. He checked the one on his left foot off handedly. The one thing that sucked about them is that if they came off in public, there was no way he'd ever find them.

Robin weaved his way through the minefield of the front two units. The kids there were much younger than his, and liked to litter the place with toys. Thank goodness his were well past that stage, and never had been in the "Let's blast everybody with foam guns" phase. In fact, he always got the "Your girls are SO well behaved! I'd love to meet their mother." And then he'd grit his teeth and explain that he was a single father, and apart from his occasional girlfriends, his girls had never really had a mother.

And then nobody would believe it. But hey, their loss. Not his job to explain it.

The door was thoughtfully open, and Miranda had already dumped the gis into the washing machine. The blonde teen was scooping a small amount of detergent into the machine which conspicuously sat in the kitchen.

"Hey, make sure you put in the bleach, Titania got her finger jammed pretty good." Robin noted the small bloodstain on the arm of the larger of the two teen's gis. Titania got the height from her mom's side of the family, but had the same golden blonde hair color which was only slightly darker than her sister's. Both of the girls strongly resembled their father, at least in the face and eyes.

"Kay Dad..." Miranda replied, before taking a swig from a water bottle. "Wasn't that right when you got that guy with the Uchi Mata?"

"He's GOOD." Robin laughed. "I think that's the first time I got him." He recalled how his opponent had reacted just right, and with no effort at all the sound of "Ippon!" had been a welcome response to the executed drill. Funny, Robin could see it happening from outside, but in the moment, it had just been reaction. Constant drill, practice and not being afraid to make mistakes. He absentmindedly rubbed at a bump on his collarbone.

"I'm hitting... I'm just going to hit the shower. I'm exhausted." Robin remarked. In fact, he was. He'd walked out of the Dojo with his hair looking like he'd just walked out of the shower he desperately needed. The entire ride home he'd been drinking water, and frankly, just moving his legs was an issue. He'd be fine in a few hours, but... rest was needed.

Shower and Sleep!
