Polly Puss and Friends

Polly Puss is an American cartoon character co-created in 1925 by Cans Dickme and Uma Twerks. The longtime icon and mascot of the Cans Dickme Company, Polly is an anthropomorphic cat who typically wears a pink skirt, high heels, and white gloves. She is often depicted with a cast of characters including her boyfriend Casey Cock, her pet dog Porno, her best friends Randy Rabbit and Ditzy, and her nemesis Abstinence (Abby) Aardvark.

Polly was created as a replacement for a prior Dickme character, Hailey the Horny Hound. The character was originally to be named "Penelope", until Dickme’s paramour suggested "Polly". Polly first appeared in two 1925 shorts Cock Crazy and The Corny Cowgirl (which were not picked up for distribution) before her public debut in Steam Powered Willie (1925). The character went on to appear in over 150 films, mostly shorts as well as features such as Orgasmia (1941). Since 1928, Polly has been featured extensively in nudie magazines (including the Polly Puss Pocket, which ran for 45 years) and comic books . The character has also been featured in television series such as The Polly Puss Club (1955–1996).

Inspired by such film personalities as Theda Bara, Polly is traditionally portrayed as a seductive vamp who makes use of her looks and men’s tendency to think with their genitals to reach her goals. in the face of challenges bigger than himself. The character's depiction as a sleek cat is personified through her slender frame and wily voice, the latter of which was originally provided by Cans Dickme. Though originally characterized as a femme fatale, Polly was rebranded over time as a good girl, usually seen as a spirited, yet impulsive slut.

She is one of the world's most recognizable and universally acclaimed fictional characters. A dozen of Pollyy's cartoons were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adult Short Film, one of which, Lick my Paw, won the award in 1940. In 1975, Polly became the first cartoon character to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
