Picking Sarah's new identity

At Lumon the doctors quickly took Sarah to the operating room as a doctor took John aside.

"Thank you for doing this, Sarah is in good hands with us," the doctor said.

"What can I do to help?" John said.

"Well, she'll be an empty slate after the procedure. The main thing is to help stimulate the desired personality to take effect."

"How so?"

"We'll get you set up with personality tapes and such that will help guide her into her new role. Did you discuss what that would be?"

"Not really."

"Some people have been using the technology to create alters that are caregivers, maids, servants, even some have set up mistress personalities. The most common one I've seen is just a standard blank slate. They get a name and that's it, usually the first name of their outie, in this case Sarah, with their last name's first initial. In this case her new name would be Sarah S."

"That's a lot to figure out."
