Chapter 5 by SpiralFelix SpiralFelix

Does Peter show up? Or does something else happen?

Peter eventually arrives, just in time for Mackenzie to have a wardrobe malfunction

The DING! of the washer finishing its cycle got Mackenzie's attention away from her phone. Had it really been nearly a full hour already? The redhead rose from the bench, ready to switch her now clean clothes over to a dryer unit.

And, she couldn't help but think, still no sign of Peter. But maybe he'll show up while my clothes are drying...

Mackenzie transferred her clothes into the other machine and started it up, all without incident. Then, she sat back down for another near hour long wait as her clothes dried. She couldn't help but peek out into the hallway, as if perhaps her laundry friend would be waiting out there for some reason. But the basement hallway was unsurprisingly empty at the late hour. So, Mackenzie simply returned to the bench, smoothed out her dress once again, and pulled her phone back out.

Once again, a while later, Mackenzie heard the ding of the machine go off, announcing that its work was done. This time, however, she was actively listening for it. Her phone's battery had dropped pretty low, so she'd **** herself to close it for the time being. And that had given her plenty of time to think. ...Mostly about Peter's lack of appearance.

Huh, guess Willow was right after all, she thought.

Why did she even care so much about this guy showing up anyway? They were barely friends, after all. Just acquaintances, really. And yet, she had been looking forward to having another nice long chat with him this evening, like they had last time. But apparently, he wasn't interested in that if she was fully dressed!

"Fine, his loss then," she muttered to herself as she hefted her bag of laundry clothes up into her grip.

But, as Mackenzie was stepping out into the hallway, she was surprised to see Peter jogging towards her, holding a bag of laundry.

"Mackenzie!" he called, coming to a stop a few feet away from her. "Glad I caught you. I was afraid I might've missed you!"

"Uh, hey Peter," she awkwardly said, both happy to see him and still a little peeved that he hadn't shown up earlier.

"Sorry I kind of bailed tonight. I mean, I know we didn't have like, official plans or anything. But still feels like I left you hanging. I had a group project that I couldn't get out of, and I realized that I had no way of letting you know I'd be busy."

"Oh! No worries, it's fine," Mackenzie smiled.

That made her feel bad. Peter was right; they didn't make any formal plans or anything. And now she was learning that it wasn't even his fault! She was starting to feel a little stupid for even feeling mad in the first place. It was just chatting while they both did their laundry anyway!

"But, uh, just so it doesn't happen again," Peter said, "think we could exchange phone numbers?"

That made Mackenzie giggle. Coming from pretty much anyone else, she would have assumed it was a roundabout way to try and ask her out. But from Peter, it just seemed too genuine.

"Sure," she replied, feeling better about her evening.

She exchanged details with the brown haired boy, and spent just a minute or so catching up before she began to make her leave.

"Well, I don't want to hold you up too long," she said, "It's already nearly 1AM and you've got your own laundry to do!"

"Yeah, it's gonna be a late night for me. Oh well, what can you do..."

That told Mackenzie all she needed to know. Because he certainly could have chosen to do his laundry on another night instead. And he had not opted to.

"Well maybe," Mackenzie said, hitting the call button for the elevator, "we could hang out some time in a place that doesn't involve laundry. How does that sound?"

"I, uh, yeah! Yeah that sounds great!" Peter happily replied. "I'll, uh, text you?"

The elevator arrived and Mackenzie stepped into it.

"Sounds good to me," she beamed.

They wished each other a good night, then Mackenzie hit the button for her floor and dropped her bag of laundry on the floor. Peter, meanwhile, hustled over to the laundry room. Except, a moment later, he called out.

"Mackenzie! Wait!"

She stopped the doors from closing at the last moment, then saw Peter jogging towards her. And he was holding something. Mackenzie's face flushed a deep red as she intimately recognized the pink lacy panties that were in his hand. It had happened again!

"Dropped these...?" he awkwardly asked, holding them out for her.

She stepped out of the elevator and shyly picked them from his hand.

"Ah heh, thanks..."

But, in all her embarrassment, she was too distracted to notice that the elevator doors were closing behind her. Closing right on the hem of her light blue dress. It was only when she felt the strange tugging sensation of her dress being not-so-slowly lifted from behind that she noticed.

"Huh, wait, WHAT?" she managed to cry out, as the ascending elevator pulled the dress up her body.

Peter, standing right in front of her, was caught equally by surprise as her dress speedily rose. First her gray panties came into view, the only thing remaining on Mackenzie's wide hips. And they were soon followed by her big round breasts, which bouncing almost eagerly into sight, pink nipples standing at attention. The long-sleeve dress yanked Mackenzie's arms up as the fabric rose above her head and obscured her view.

"Ahh! Stop!" was all she managed to say, or scream really, in equal amounts surprise, fear, and embarrassment.

But, as the elevator froze and the dress stopped with it, the fabric was just high enough to let Mackenzie's head pop free. Although, her sleeves were all bunched around her forearms and kept them still trapped in place. Mackenzie was essentially stuck there, standing in front of Peter with her arms raised and wearing nothing but her panties. That was when the embarrassment began outweighing the surprise and fear.

Peter, for his part, was standing there frozen in shock and dumbfounded into absolute silence.

"Uh... little help?" Mackenzie demurely asked.

When Mackenzie made it back to her dorm room a few minutes later, she was quite relieved to find that Willow was already asleep. She had absolutely no desire to explain to her roommate why she was wearing a boy's hoodie (and nothing else), rather than the dress she'd left in. Peter had been more than kind enough to lend it to her, especially since they'd had to partially ruin Mackenzie's dress to free her. And, in a true stroke of good luck, nobody on the first floor had taken any of Mackenzie's clean clothes in the few minutes they'd sat unattended.

Mackenzie quickly took Peter's hoodie off, hiding it among all her clean clothes, and climbed up into her bed. Wearing just her panties, she nestled herself into her warm, comfy blanket, and took a moment to catch her breath. She placed her hand on her chest and could hear her heart still beating quite rapidly.

Well... good to know I can still embarrass myself in front of Peter even if I do own clothes again I guess, she sarcastically thought to herself, cringing slightly at yet another accidental exposure.

But one thought did cheer her up slightly. Since she now had his hoodie, he'd have to show up next time for laundry if he wanted it back! Unless, of course, he texted her about meeting up even sooner than that...

The End.
