You flinch at this, "what do you mean? 'Almost done'?"

"I know you're not happy about last night. That's why I am giving you a second chance."

You and Jessica do not like the sound of that. "What do you mean 'second chance'?" ask Jessica.

With a chuckle the stranger answers, "it is simple really. You want to keep your genders; Rachel has to keep the kids."

Your head shoots up at the same time as Jessica. Are you relieved or scared, you cannot tell. The hard choices had already been made, so you thought.
