Old friends "reunited"

On the other side of Reduna'z Gaze, Kyuala and Amilia are currently standing in front of a blacksmith. Amilia leans against a beam as Kyuala talks to the smith who is currently working at his forge.

(Narrator note// Imagine him with grey hair)

"Sylus, you know I wouldn't ask if it wasn't serious".

Sylus sighs as he turns to Kyuala, "Kyuala, my darling. I hear you but I simply cannot just give you armour and weapons for two people without pay. Ryjarmon would have my head on a pike by yesterday if I did".

Amilia scoffs, "What happened to the rebellious Sylus who didn't take any shit from the Reeves?".

The elder minotaur turns to Amilia, "Listen kitten, I stuck my neck out so many times for my friends. I armoured an entire raiding party heading into the Network, and what did I get for my selfless deeds? Two months in a shit-smelling dungeon, sat in a cell next to a bunch of horny orcs constantly fucking some piss-drinking goblins. I'm lucky I even got my shop back so i'm sorry Ky, but I cannot take that risk again, end of discussion".

Kyuala sighs before asking, "Sy, is there really nothing you can do?".

Sylus becomes the one who sighs, bowing his head before saying, "In the back room, there's a couple swords, a shield and some leather gear, best I can do".

Kyuala pumps her fist in glee before hugging her friend and saying, "Thank you Sylus, you're the best!".

The elder minotaur chuckles as the orc women lets go of him and as she does, he says, "Okay, just, take the gear and go. Oh, and if anyone asks, tell them you found it in the woods, got it?".

Kyuala then jokingly salutes before saying, "Yes sir!".

The minotaur and orc laugh but Amilia remains unamused as Kyuala quickly heads into the back room for a minute before coming back out with a rucksack over her shoulder.

Kyuala then looks at the cat before saying, "Alright, let's head to Grenwel's".

"How exciting" Is all Amilia can respond with, keeping her tone as flat as possible as the old friends begin walking through the streets.

A COUPLE MINUTES LATER:

The duo continue their journey through the cobbled streets, but as they do, a silence has grown between them, seemingly unsure as to what to talk about.

Eventually, Amilia is the one who breaks the silence as she bluntly asks, "So, you boned the half-marked yet, or what?".

Kyuala chokes on her own saliva in surprise. She then switches to stuttering before finally responding, "W-w-w-what?".

Amilia then looks to her friend and responds, "Oh c'mon! I saw how you were looking at him in the hallway, and in the room, and practically all the way to Puwlee's. So, c'mon, you took him for a ride yet? Cause trust me, some demon-kissed can really go, if you catch my drift".

Kyuala scoffs while looking away from the cat before saying, "Of course you would know that".

Amilia notes the emphasis on the "you" part of Kyuala's response before replying, "Listen, it wasn't my choice to become... this, you know?".

Kyuala's gaze turns back to Amilia who is now looking at the ground, with a sad expression on her face. Kyuala now feels a wave of guilt wash over her as she asks, "What do you mean? For as long as i've known you, you've always liked to be the focus of every guys eye".

"And girl".

Kyuala's eyes open wide in shock, hearing that apparently confession of sexuality leave Amilia's lips so casually. The grey cat sees the shocked expression and says, "Don't worry about not knowing, I didn't exactly make it obvious".

"But, why didn't you tell me?" Kyuala asks.

Amilia then retreats back to a more quieter tone before saying, "Because... I... didn't want you to... think differently of me".

Kyuala stops on the spot, causing Amilia to pause as well as she looks to her former friend. Kyuala then puts her hand on Amilia's shoulder before saying, "Ami, you were my best friend. You should know better than anyone that I would have accepted you, no matter if you were straight, bi, or gay".

Amilia looks to her former friend, almost tearing up before saying, "I guess I was kinda scared that you'd throw me away like, you-know-who".

Amilia is then brought into the arms of Kyuala as the former friends embrace one another tightly as Kyuala says, "I would never. I know I went back on our oath because of... well, you know... but, well, I guess we've got a chance to make up for lost time... as friends".

The two laugh, Amilia's laughter more muffled due to her head being against the taller woman's chest. Eventually the duo break the hug, essentially rekindling their friendship as Amilia says, "Thank you".

Kyuala simply nods with a smile on her face as they continue walking. As they do, the cat turns back into her old self by asking, "So, you did bang the half-marked then?".

Kyuala chuckles in amusement, as does Amilia as the two continue walking down the street.
