Oh wow

You slip out of Jacob’s room, your body still tingling from the forbidden tryst. Pulling your skimpy dress back into place, you pad down the hallway, your bare feet silent on the worn carpet. You spot Tyler slumped against the wall, his head in his hands.

Your heart clenches at the dejected picture he makes and you hurry to his side, crouching down beside him. "Tyler, sweetheart, I'm so sorry," you murmur, your voice thick with remorse. "I never meant to hurt you. What happened back there...it was thoughtless and cruel. I got caught up in the moment and I...I wasn't thinking clearly. Can you forgive me?"

Tyler lifts his head, his eyes red-rimmed and accusing. "You humiliated me, Mom. In front of everyone. How could you? And then to find you fucking Jacob..." He shakes his head, his voice cracking. "I don't even know who you are anymore."

Your throat tightens with guilt and shame. "I know. I fucked up, badly. But I'm still your mom, Ty. That hasn't changed. I love you and I'll do whatever it takes to make this right. Please, just give me a chance to fix this."

He stares at you for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Then he sighs heavily, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "I don't know, Mom. I just...I need some time. To process everything."

You nod, your eyes welling with tears. "I understand. Take all the time you need. I'll be here when you're ready to talk."

Tyler pushes to his feet, still refusing to meet your gaze. "I'm going to stay with a friend tonight. I can't...I can't be here right now."

Your heart breaks as you watch him walk away, his retreating back stiff and unyielding. You sink to the floor, burying your face in your hands as the first sob tears through you. You've really done it this time. You've destroyed your family, all for a few fleeting moments of pleasure. The price of your selfishness is higher than you ever could have imagined.
