The next day in the office Christina sat feeling many emotions after the night before with Sarah. She felt guilt, humiliation, embarrassment but all so arousal. Samantha came into the office feeling somewhat pensive. She told Cristina that she had not had time to finish the reports due to a backlog. She expected Christina to berate her and threaten to punish her. Instead, Christina looked at her kindly and explained that she understood Samantha's predicament. Christina walked over to Samantha’s computer and calmly asked her what needed to be done immediately. “The reports that require immediate attention include monthly sales projections, budget adjustments, and updates regarding key contract negotiations.” “Of course, I am happy to assist you, dear. Let’s begin with those urgent matters, shall we?” Christina smiled warmly, her tone filled with sincerity and understanding. Her empathetic approach took Samantha by surprise, and it allowed her to open up and share her concerns freely. Samantha was dumbfounded about having her boss so close to helping her do her work. Even though Christina knew it was a sarcastic comment it showed that Samantha might be starting to accept Christina in this role. In return, Christina thanked Samantha for her efforts during the day and wished her well. Samantha was now confused because had she made that joke a few weeks ago she would probably have been fired.

She needed to further test Christina in the coming days to see what she could get away with. Christina arrived home and swapped her power suit for her maid's uniform. When she entered the kitchen she saw a note on the table labelled schedule. It would indeed make things much easier for everyone involved. Why don't we give it a try? What do you think, should we start right away?" Samantha couldn't believe her ears. Just hours earlier, she hadn't thought it possible that Christina would agree to such a proposal. Yet here she was, suggesting that they implement the arrangement sooner rather than later. Well, Ms Hewson tomorrow I have an appointment at the doctors maybe you could take my work and help in my absence. She proposed carefully choosing her words so that Christina wouldn't question her motives too deeply. To her astonishment, Christina readily agreed without hesitation, "Of course, Samantha! We can certainly handle everything together in your absence. Is there anything specific you'd like me to focus on?"

Christina queried attentively, keen to learn about the areas where improvement was most necessary. Samantha replied that maybe the area of power dynamics needed work on. Samantha now feeling brave asked Christina if that included the CEO. Christina paused then said yes. That was a surprising decision for Samantha.
