"Um, I don't want to disturb your breakfast." Sam quickly cuts in. "Would you like me to go for you?"
Mike seems to glare at Sam for a moment, before looking down at his breakfast. "You trying to see my wife in bed or something?" he finally says.
Sam almost jumps out of his skin at the accusation, his face flushing and panic growing inside him. "What? No, I, I just didn't want your breakfast to get cold. I mean, I didn't mean anything by it, I just....." his voice trails off.
Lauren and Joe both mirror Sam's scared looks, all eyes falling onto Mike before suddenly he bursts into laughter. "I'm just shitting you." he finally says. "Go get that bitch out of bed and bring her straight in here. She'd better have a good fucking excuse for not sorting breakfast for us."
Breathing a heavy sigh of relief Sam begins to slowly make his way to the door, but as he goes he catches a look from Lauren, a look of fear. Sam's blood runs cold as he tries to work out who that fear was for. Was Mike just testing him, or was Lauren scared about what he'll say to her mother when she comes in.
