Not So Scary After All

Arriving at the door of the classroom, Melissa tells Batgirl to wait outside until she is called in. Sharing a smile, Melissa shuts the door and greets her students, while Batgirl in full outfit awkwardly shuffles her feet in a School hallway.

“I’d like you all to meet a new friend. Batgirl, come in, please.” Melissa calls out.

Taking in a breath, Batgirl enters the classroom as stunned as all the students. They are kindergartners! As some kids start crying softly and some are stricken with fear at the nightmarish sight Melissa shoots Batgirl a look of frustration before calming the situation.

“It’s ok kids, Batgirl just forgot that Halloween is over.” Melissa tells her class, causing them to laugh.

“Take off that mask” Melissa whispers to Batgirl “What if someone opens the door?” Questions Batgirl. “Tell them you bought it at a costume store.” Melissa hissed through gritted teeth.

Batgirl takes off her cowl and adjusts her hair in a ponytail, calming the children. “See kids, I’m not so scary.” Batgirl seems somewhat relieved to unmask in front of the students. Unbeknownst to her, this will be a treasured memory for Melissa Moore.
