"Yeah, that would be my guess. Okay, what's the deal?"

"First of all, I really would like to buy you a coffee. You seem like a cool woman and, even if you're not interested in dating a student, I could use some friends."

"Yeah, enough with the throat clearing."

"And I thought if I was with you, the assholes who always bully me might back off."

She laughed. "You thought spending time with a black woman would get you picked on less? Boyfriend, you have some serious reality disconnects going on."
