“It was just a dream Sylvana, I don’t know for sure that Nire spoke to me. Forget I brought it up.” You reassure her as you stand and exit the shack. “I’m going to check on the barrier and then patrol. Can’t leave the adventurer’s unchecked, right?” The nymph waves in acknowledgement, seemingly still distracted by the details of your dream. Figuring there was no point in discussing anything more with her right now you leave.

Reaching the barrier you tap it and are greeted by a window.

“Guess that settles what my next task is going to be.” You grumble to yourself and make your way to the exit of the grove. You can’t delay any longer. If you’re to curry any favor with Nire then this land must become your hunting ground.

You spend some time moving away from the grove, beyond where Sylvana might find and sabotage your traps. Gathering the materials as you go you set up several simple traps that don’t require much in the way of tools or time as a requirement to construct them. Several net snares and a few suspension snares in likely areas will do for a start.

As you set your traps and patrol what you are quickly coming to consider as your territory; you find tracks. Goblins. You knew the pests did inhabit the forest and, while you’re almost surprised you haven’t seen signs of them sooner, you hadn’t been looking forward to making contact with the vile, green vermin. Still, this could be a good chance for some relatively easy EXP.

Following the tracks soon brings you to what the squalid little creatures must consider a village. Little more than hollowed out mounds of mud bound stone formed their “huts”. It looked like it wouldn’t take much more than a good rain for them to fall to pieces around whatever was taking cover inside them. Apparently they hadn’t faired well since the update.

Normally goblin villages, while primitive, were at least somewhat recognizable as a village. You watch the little humanoids go about their business. The village seems to be home to about 20 of them. Forest goblins. Their skin and hair were a variety of shades of green and brown. Natural camouflage for the forest in which they reside. Most of them seem to be lounging around despondently, watching the labors of a few still industrious individuals. It looked like they were still trying to build standard goblin huts, though a piercing DEE-WOO that echoed from the village seemed evidence that they were failing at the task.

Perhaps this could provide you with an opportunity. The creatures would likely be grateful for any assistance you could provide and it would possibly lead to more minions for you…. At the same time you hated goblins. Maybe you could use their desperation to your advantage.
