Chapter 9 by Ben Rosewood Ben Rosewood

Do you have any combat experience?

No

"Uhh, I think there might have been a mistake on my profile."

"Just freakin' lovely." Wolf mutters.

"It's okay dude. We'll get you up to speed." Ice speaks with a coolness that seems odd. This is real. You're flying into a third-world dictatorship, surrounded by mercenaries and with a submachine gun sitting in your lap. Its grip feels foreign to you, even though in theory, you've done this many times in the past, but back then you were just a guy at the computer. Now you're one of the killers heading down.

"That's it. Breath in and out."

The pilot starts hovering above the ground. You notice a rope hanging from the side, which Ice grabs and slides down. Peter and Cynthia follow him, and so do you. Somehow you manage to slide down without hurting yourself, landing on the edges of the shanty town Omerta. You look for any movement. You know that the enemy is present and you have no doubt they've heard the helicopter flying in foreign mercenaries.

How do things play out on the ground?
