Even as her spear headed for his throat, he bellowed, long and loud, before her spear ripped through his voicebox and spine, silencing him forever. Swearing, she spun, and dropped back out of sight of the doorway, spear held ready against the coming threat.

Moments later, no less than four massive lizardmen burst out of the entrance, spreading and looking for her. One sniffed the air, then offered a guttural grunt, pointing in her direction. She tensed as the four lizardmen approached her hiding spot, wicked claws and spines catching the moonlight, dark scales glinting in the dark.

There was a slim chance she could win this. A very slim one. Maybe running or even outright surrender would be a better option.
