No one answers

[Note from author: This was not the original planned chapter. That one is almost done. This one just came to me and I decided to add it. Please let me know what you think.]

They waited there for about a minute, but no one answered. "That's strange," Yuzuha said as she tried the bell again. "Do they usually take long to answer the door, Kazuma?"

"No," Kazuma answered confused over the lack of activity. "When did you call them?"

"Two hours ago," she replied. "I don't recall your mom mentioning being away tonight."

"Maybe something came up," Satsuki said. Next to her, Kazuma was checking his phone. "They didn't send me any mail saying they would be away." He returned the phone to his pocket and pulled out his key to the house. "I guess I will let us in."

Kazuma inserted the key into the hole and turned it. He opened the door to the dark house. Before he could step in, Satsuki quickly grabbed his arm and stopped. He looked back to see she was shaking slightly. Like she was trying to restrain herself.

"What is it? he asked.

"I... smell blood in there." she answered, trying to restrain herself. "A lot of blood."
