What was that all about?
No Easy Answers
“What was that about?” You ask Tom.
“I don’t know. I tried to talk to her, and she flipped out,” Tom says on his bed.
Behind you, you can feel Paige’s glare on your back. Twin lasers were pointed at your back and Paige had a look on her face that screamed: “get back in bed NOW!”. This was something you had to deal with. You still cared about Jenna, and you couldn’t just pretend nothing had happened.
“Where is she going?”
“She says she’s going to sleep on the sofa downstairs,” Tom explains.
“Is there a reason?”
“I don’t know. I didn’t do anything. I saw her, and she looked sad. I asked what was going on, and then she just stormed off like that,” Tom said. “Look, bro… I think she likes you. You better go talk to her.”
You felt the same but needed to hear him say it or at least have an excuse to go talk with Jenna. The only problem now was Paige. If only you could unlock the Relationship Party menu, maybe Paige would take it easier. It’s not like you didn’t like Paige or liked her more than Jenna, you liked them both. There are more nuances in relationships than just one answer. That’s what you tried to convince yourself at least as you marched back to your bed and explain to Paige you were going to go talk to Jenna.
“What’s wrong with Jenna?” Paige asks, though her tone relayed that she could guess.
“I’m going to go talk to her... Just don’t get upset.”
Paige gives you an “are you serious” stare and then pulls the blankets over her and turns over, not facing you.
“Hey, don’t be like that,” You say.
“You know how to pick em, Paige,” Paige consoles herself. “You can’t stop chasing the same type of guys, can you.”
Rubbing her back, you reassure her, “I’ll be back real soon, and we can continue where we left off.”
Before you can leave and part your hands from her back, Paige reaches around and grabs your hand keeping you locked to her.
“That’s a promise. You better be back soon,” Paige childishly grunts without turning back to face you, and you caress each other’s hands for a moment.
Getting up and leaving Paige there to sulk, you walk to the entrance doorway of the bedrooms and pass Mona in her nightclothes, who smiles knowingly at you.
Go ahead. I’ll make you wipe that smile off your face soon enough.
“Good night, Matty,” Mona says. “Make sure Jenna doesn’t keep us up all night, will you?”
Gritting your teeth, you walked past Mona and headed down the stairs to the living room sofa. You didn't have time to deal with Mona right now with lights out coming soon and Jenna still had to be talked to.
Jenna was on the sofa downstairs with her body turned away and facing the backrest.
“What’s wrong?” You ask Jenna.
“Nothing,” Jenna says bitterly.
“You’re crying over nothing?”
“Matt, you have Paige, just don’t worry about me, okay?” Jenna says through sniffles, her body shaking.
“Let’s say I do have Paige. Does that mean you and I mean nothing to each other? We’re not good friends?”
“No, but… I just can’t take it right now,” Jenna says. “Was this how you felt when you saw Tom with me?”
“Not really,” You say bluntly. “Truthfully… I was happy for you, Jenna. I was jealous… but I wanted you to be happy. Honestly.”
“I’m not a saint, like you,” Jenna sobbed.
“I’m far from a saint,” You say as you just recently thought about how to manage to stay in a relationship with two women using seemingly magical powers.
“Just… leave me alone right now. I’m sorry if I don’t want to sleep in the same room with the guy I like playing around with some other girl.” Jenna says.
Your fingers came to your temple, and you rub them. You had to get the Relationship Party menu. If it would ease Jenna’s jealousy and maybe allow Paige to be less possessive of you then you needed to get it. That was the thread of logic pounding in your head that overwhelmed the other one that complained that you used to hate guys that juggled multiple women. But honestly… those guys. Would they give a fuck about what you had thought about them?
No, this was you trying to convince yourself it was okay to play with two women's emotions and have them love you at the same time. Still, you had a pocket wizard which could allow the possibility to do that and make it easier on all three of you.
Sighing, you left Jenna there unable to find a solution at the moment that would make the situation right. You held your phone and cursed that it didn’t provide you with a Helping Hand or something else magical like it always does to help you out. Somehow it felt like it was taking the training wheels off of you but you weren't ready to ride solo yet.
Maybe life and relationship don’t always come with neat little solutions that offer you help from time to time, you thought. Your relationships with Jenna and Paige were just beginning and these were just your first challenges on the long and winding road that the AMA wanted you to walk through.
What happens later in bed?
