Does Rick make it back into the game?
No. The security guard screws him
Every casino has dozens of security professionals continually monitoring the cameras. Because the biggest danger to a casino's profits are cheaters... often cheaters working in collusion with a dealer. Rick figured it would take two minutes to find and review the tapes confirming his story.
Instead, the security guard led the two of them into an office, plopped them both down on steel chairs, and got on the phone.
Miss Oklahoma got a smug look on her face. She was supposed to mess with Rick, keep him from winning, and she'd succeeded. Girls with looks like hers didn't have to worry about the consequences of her actions. When security finally reviewed the tapes and agreed that Rick was in the clear, they'd probably give her a warning. At worst, she'd be asked not to return to the casino. In the meantime, Rick was out of the competition. Even if they let him back in the game, the blind would have risen so much he would be blinded out.
Which is exactly what happened. An hour later, the security guard somehow noticed he'd gotten a message... which had probably arrived before he'd even removed Rick and Miss Oklahoma from the table.
"Well, sir, it appears that your story is confirmed. We're very sorry for the inconvenience and the casino is happy to provide a voucher for free entry to our next tournament."
"Not good enough," Rick said. "At a minimum, you should provide a re-buy. I'm here on my honeymoon and I don't know when I'll be back."
The security guard got in Rick's face. "Look, mister. I don't know how they do things in Texas but here, you get a good offer, you take it. As for you, missy, if I were your daddy, I'd take you out behind the outhouse and give you a good whipping. You should know better than to flirt with a stranger when he's playing poker. Plenty of time for that later."
"Sorry, officer."
"Mr. Peters, please stop by the cashier's office on your way out and pick up your voucher."
With that, he lumbered away leaving Rick and Miss Oklahoma looking at each other.
"Hope they paid you well," Rick said.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"I think you do. And believe me, I'll be looking for a chance to do you the same kind of favor you did me... once I've settled with your slimy friends."
