Before you have the chance to pick up the axe a officer snaps your back with the flat of his sword and with a sneer points you at the formation fast approaching and says "Fall in - we got guardsmen coming!” At that you and the other foot men run down the wall and form a quick phalanx.

A shiver runs down your spine as you see the House Guard march at you without even a sound other than the steady beat of their boots. Unlike other parts of the city’s field armies the House Guard are the warriors to fear. Made up of only citizens they are well trained with their Spatha, large shield, chainmail and deep helmets they will break this mock phalanx and make quick work of you and your comrades.

As the lines meet a horrid din of screaming, **** and the clash of arms rise in the afternoon. You push from the back as the men in front of you stab, swing and bash with anything they have at the silent killers in front of them. The guard just keep behind their shields and hold their line only to stab and slash when they have a chance. Too soon, your brothers start to give ground as their front lines fall prey to thrusts into the neck and leg or any exposed part of their body.

The line breaks sending you and your Allies running back to the wall away from certain ****. It's times like this that you're glad the House Guard are few in number. It is only the steady stream of new men through the breach that save you. They fall on the guard's flanks and after ten minutes or so **** them back down a street toward the inner city.

You look around without breath and take a seat on a dead soldier. The officer is gone; now is your chance to leave your squad and have a little fun.
