Xena was curious as what this secret was. However she knew, given her own personal history, that everyone had their own secrets. So she left it at that.

Instead, she turned to Tassa. "Like I said, it probably wouldn't be wise to leave with so many enemies around."

Tassa was disappointed. "I don't know how we can repay you for returning your heirloom. All I have to say thank you."

Xena gave a wave of her hand. "Don't worry about it."

Then, Gabrielle spoke up. "Tassa, just where are you headed?"

"To the coast. Athens to be exact. That is the only place that have ships big enough to brave the trecherous waters to Penheris."

Gabrielle looked at Xena. "We kind of were heading in that direction anyway. Perhaps we could travel with you at least until Athens."

"You could?" Tassa said, a bit more happily. Hermallia had retreated to her bed and had her back turned to the rest of the women. "That would be wonderful. If you could help us book safe passage, I'm sure that we could handle traveling by sea to the island."

Gabrielle looked at Xena. The Warrior Princess frowned. Her bard friend obviously was trying to be her usual helpful self. However, what if a sudden danger or threat loomed up while they were on their way to Athens. Xena didn't want to get into a situation where she would abandon the youthful Tassa and the moping Hermallia (what was her secret?).

"I can't make guarantees that we will go all the way to Athens with you," Xena said, trying to be diplomatic instead of her usual blunt self. "If threats emerge along the way, we'll have to deal with them."

"We'll take the chance, Xena," Tassa said. "I've heard of your reputation and any time traveling with you would be....most comforting."

Gabrielle beamed that her compromise worked. Xena gave a tight smile, but nodded her head. They would travel with the sisters as far as they could.
