New room, offered a job

"What else?" Lauren growled through gritted teeth.

"Though Vanessa is required to house you due to the will, she is not required to make it free." Megan explained. "You will be charged rent, as well for every expense you incur. One of my new duties is to keep track of this."

Lauren glowered. How could she pay this debt back? She didn't have a job! She couldn't even get one right now: Town was miles away and she had no car! Of course, the bus did not come way out here to the mansions on the hill! She would accrue more and more debt and be unable to pay it!

"There has to be some way to pay that." Lauren said. "I... I don't have any money anymore."

"That's the next thing." Megan grinned with arched eyebrows. "Let me take you to your new room.

They headed to the room. An empty sparse tiny room with a bed, a closet and a mirror. Beyond that it was blank white. Lauren peaked at the closet. All that hung was one maid's uniform.

"What's this?" Lauren asked. "Where's all my stuff?"

"You mean Vanessa's stuff?" Megan pointed out. "You don't own anything!"

"B... but... my clothes!" Lauren exclaimed.

"They all belong to you sister now." Megan watched Lauren's jaw drop.

"But, what will I wear?"

"That's what I wanted to tell you." Megan explained. "Your sister has decided to offer you a job. It pays minimum wage, but if you want to have any hope of paying off your debt you'll soon develop, I suggest you take it."

"A job? What job?" Lauren asked, genuinely confused. Megan smiled, and pointed at the maid's uniform in response.

"Oh no," Lauren said, shaking her head. "Not that..."
