Chapter 4 by Rowenar Rowenar

Who's her soon-to-be partner?

Namine

Larxene scrambled up as best she could, finally choosing to sit up and hugging her knees to her chest, legs pressed tightly together in the hope they'd help cover her up. The blonde peered over her knees, cheeks warming as she recognised the figure approaching her.

She remembered Namine from the Castle. The girl in the white dress, the one they'd kept captive to manipulate Sora's memories. Quiet, mousy, and damn it someone Larxene was not going to be awkward around!

Still, she couldn't bring herself to so much as stand, not as exposed as she was. She gave her best shot at a glower, looking up over her legs to the girl.

"Didn't think I'd see you again," Namine said.

"Yeah, well, you're dead too if you're here," Larxene said.

She swallowed slightly, then cursed herself for doing so. Damn it, of course Namine got to join in without giving up her dress; Larxene wasn't sure what her entry fee had been, but it obviously wasn't nearly this humiliating.

"I met my other," Namine said. "It's been a while since the Castle."

"Guess they don't care," Larxene said, suppressing the urge to wave her hand. "You just going to stand and stare?"

"It's nice seeing you be the one squirming for once," Namine said.

What? Larxene blinked; that... that didn't sound like the quiet girl she'd known. She didn't know whether that was better or worse; being in this predicament in front of that weakling would have been unbearable, but if Namine had picked up a spine along the way this had the potential to go a lot worse.

"Give me your hand," Namine said. Her voice definitely sounded... off. Colder, maybe.

"What?!" Larxene said. She coughed, hoping her indignance had come off as anger rather than panic.

Judging by Namine's expression, it hadn't.

"While you were waiting around in here, all the other Players got their partners," Namine said. "You and I are the only ones left."

"You think I'd choose you?!" Larxene said.

"You don't have a choice," Namine said. "Didn't you listen to the Reapers? You need a partner."

They had said that. And... was it better or worse that her other option would likely entail ending up naked with a total stranger? Not that Namine was much better, but hopefully she could intimidate the girl into doing what they had to so she wouldn't need to leave cover.

Keeping one arm tightly hugging around her knees, holding them to her chest, she reached out with her other hand; the moment Namine took it she felt a sudden surge of energy.

So that was what 'partners' meant; it was hard to put her finger on exactly what had happened, but she definitely felt a connection. Hopefully that would make this game go better-

And then, catching her by surprise, Namine yanked on her arm. Instinctively Larxene was pulled to her feel, trying to keep balance, only to shriek and tug her hand out of Namine's, clapping it over her tits again as she found herself standing, losing an awful lot of the slight modesty she'd had.

What the hell?! Namine wouldn't have...

"Guess I can see what your entry fee was," Namine said.

"Y-yeah- shut up!" Larxene said, ultimately deciding to snap. Namine didn't blink. "What was yours, common sense?"

"My heart. Apparently I had one, even as a Nobody," Namine said. "Or I did. It feels... different."

Larxene hesitated. Well that explained a few things, like why Namine wasn't some shy brat she could boss around; it also made the concept of being partnered to her a little more worrying. Somehow she had the feeling a heartless Namine wouldn't be particularly sympathetic to her nudity, especially after everything that had happened in the Castle.

Larxene squirmed for a moment, fidgeting on the spot. She nervously glanced past her new partner, instinctively shrinking back from the crowd of people in the city outside.

As far as Namine having a heart went, well she'd always been a weird Nobody. Though Larxene could remember back when she was human, it was just memory; she could ignore what she would have done back then. Apparently faced with one of her captors, Namine was just as driven to do the same.

Larxene felt her cheeks heat up. Of all the people to end up stuck with, it had to be that mousy little brat?

"Don't you need that?" Namine said.

She gestured; Larxene glanced down, to the pouch the Reaper had left for her. Right, that was meant to be useful. She looked back up to Namine, only to see the girl apparently had no intention of looking away and making this easier.

Damn it. Larxene felt her blush deepen despite her best efforts, and hastily crouched, flashed her modest boobs for a brief second as she moved to grab the pouch, only to miss it and leave herself exposed for a few seconds more as she had to look sideways to make sure she grabbed it.

The moment it was in her hand, she straightened and crossed her arm back over her chest, her nipples that had stood out for a moment so much against her pale skin hidden behind a slender arm.

Opening the pouch and looking inside it with just the fingers of one hand was a hard task, especially at the awkward angle she had it at, but there was no way she was baring anything more. Especially given Namine was just giggling at her embarrassment.

Every time she didn't think she could get any redder...

In the bag seemed to just be a slightly blocky phone, and then a small handful of pins. Most seemed to have random designs, though one silver one she recognised as also being pinned to Namine's dress. Presumably it marked them as Players.

"So what is it?" Namine said innocently.

"Like it matters," Larxene said.

"Aren't we partners?" Namine said. "We've got to work together."

Larxene let out a long, irritated, flustered sigh.

"It's a phone," she said. An instant later and it beeped. "With a message."

"Probably important," Namine said. "I heard that we'll have one mission to do each day, and that the phone will tell us what it is."

She'd heard about the missions. Larxene gave half a whimper, before biting her lip and interrupting the sound. She couldn't just hide out from the city, the people that couldn't see her, and the Reapers and Players and shops that could.

Just so long as she could keep to places that were out of sight...

"So what's our mission?" Namine said.

"You tell me." Larxene shook the pouch slightly violently, sending the phone clattering out onto the stone floor of the underpass. Meanwhile she did her best to hunch over, pressing the pouch against her hip and fastening it a split second after Namine's gaze had turned from the fallen phone and back to her nude partner.

Hastily Larxene adopted her by-now usual pose, one arm over her chest and the other over her pussy, the pouch she'd been given around her hip and still far from offering her any modesty.

Though Namine had picked up the phone, she made no effort to read it. Instead she moved to pass it back to Larxene, holding it out expectantly.

Damn it, the brat was enjoying watching her squirm. Well, inasmuch as she could enjoy anything without a heart; she sure as hell seemed to be giving it a go. Maybe her entry fee had just been half her heart, the part that would've kept her withdrawn and quiet and not so obviously relishing every moment of her captor's blush-inducing ordeal.

"It's your phone," Namine said innocently. "I wouldn't want to take it."

Larxene glared at her for a long second. Namine kept her arm outstretched, patiently waiting. After far too long Larxene groaned, and hastily moved to snatch the phone back, once more baring her tits.

She held the phone awkwardly, elbow bent in a V in an attempt to just about hide some of her chest while still being in a position to see the screen. Mission, mission...

What's their task for day one?
