Mr. Fraser calls

Ten minutes later her phone rang. Brenda took a deep breath and smiled as she answered, then smiled again as she heard Mr. Fraser's voice.

"My wife told me you thought you'd lost your homework. She says there's no sign of it at home, and I'm sorry to tell you that it's not in the car. You must have lost it somewhere else."

"Oh no!" she said with dismay. "You were my last hope. It was a notebook with all my class notes. I'm pretty sure I put it in my backpack when I left your place, but when I got home the zipper was open, and I think it probably fell out in the car. It's really important Mr. Fraser. I don't know what I'll do without it." she added, putting an hint of desperation.

"I'm in the car right now and I don't see anything..."

"I'm sure it must be there Mr. Fraser, I can't think where else it could be. I know it's a terrible nuisance but I really need it. I'm at the mall right now, and if you came here I'd search the car for it so you don't have to. I'd be ever so grateful Mr. Fraser. Please....." She let the last word linger out in a teasing, pleading voice, and she smiled as she heard him clear his throat.

"I suppose that would be ok," he said finally.

"That's fantastic! Thank you so much Mr. Fraser. I'll be at the east entrance, ok?"

"Ok. I'll be there in shortly. But I can't stay long."

"That's ok Mr. Fraser! You're wonderful! See you soon!" Brenda smiled as she terminated the call and checked her appearance in her mirror before going to meet Mr. Fraser.
