Chapter 5 by RedRobin995 RedRobin995

Who is at the door?

Mother at the door.

Tim’s mother knocked on his door and entered his room. “Tim this is for you.” Barbara said while handing him a letter and a small wrapped box with it. “Grandpa asked me to give you this on your 18th birthday before he passed.” Barbara stated with a sad look on her face. “Thank You. It’s getting late Mom I’m gonna look at this head to bed.” Tim said. Barbara silently nodded her head and left closing the door behind her.

Tim sat staring at the letter, a mixture of fear and excitement on his face. On one-hand reading the letter would be like talking to his grandfather again but on the other after finishing, it would be like losing him all over again. Tim took a deep breath and calmed his nerves.

Tim opened the letter and read holding in all emotion until the end. The letter simply stated that Grandpa Jim was proud of him and loved him and that above all else in their family he deserved the attached gift. A stone of a reddish pink hue that shines like glass. “A wishing stone? This stone can be used only once by it’s bearer on the 18th day of their birth. Grandpa where the hell did you get this?” Tim read the instructions aloud and questioned his grandfather’s actions. “Grandpa wasn’t the type to joke around. I should give it a try I guess.” As Tim picked up the stone a light shined from it’s center engulfing Tim’s hand causing him to lose consciousness.

Tim opened his eyes to find himself surrounded by a black background with the stone floating in the center providing the only source of light. Suddenly a voice sounded in his head the sound of a woman but almost artificial like a computer. “Bearer of the stone, what is your name?” The voice asked to which he responded. “Tim Blake. C-can you really grant my wish?.” “ Are there any rules?” Tim asked cautiously. “Yes, Rule #1 The dead cannot be brought back to life without consequences. Rule #2 You can not **** anyone to love you. Finally Rule #3 You cannot wish for the **** of someone or something.”

What to wish for?
