Change

Tim stood silently thinking ‘Of course the three main wishes I would have made can’t be used. I need to think what is it I most desire.’ Tim pondered to himself making a mental list but such thoughts were swept as he thought deeper. What he wanted most of was change. Change to himself and his own world view mostly but change to his world that would take someone like grandpa away as well.

“I wish I was better. A better me, a protagonist like my game and story characters. Someone who can protect the ones he loves, someone not depressed and sad. I wish I could change to better myself.” Tim stated hopefully, wondering if such a thing was possible even through this apparent magic. “Your wish is granted. Happy Birthday Tim Blake, and welcome to the abyss.” The voice sounded as light began to shine all around Tim. “Wait wha-.” Tim started but failed to ask his question as he awoke to light in his eyes.

“What, was that all a dream?” Tim asked himself aloud but any doubts he had were stopped as he heard a ding and read what appeared to be a floating message box.
