More then eight days later

To be safe you and your dad spend the next ten days locked down, during the enforced isolation you watch the news channels, the social media pages on line and every news outlet across the country. You talk to your friends in town and around the country, one by one they drop of the radar some you do not know what happened to they just stopped replying or interacting with anyone. The worst case is they have got the virus the best case is they have just lost power or internet and so many other possibilities in between the two. Some say they are running for the hills trying to escape the cities or their towns as more and more people die or become the primal sex hunters, yes that was the name given to them by the government or PSH type with a number after it with each number showing how great the change is going from 1-5 with 1 being the most common to 5 being something that you saw once and that was scary to watch as it tore into the military and police trying to stop it as it lead a large group of other PSH on a rampage in some city in Italy. Rumour is the CDC has another ranking system as well called MSH but no one has a clue what that is for or what it is even short for.

This whole process of the world falling apart you get to see as people live stream events happening around them, you see one person stream their neighbour having what at first looked like an orgy in the back garden or so it seems until everyone watching realises it is the family women been **** by the father who has caught the virus and turned into a primal sex hunter. Of course during this time you and your dad have not been ideal you have cleaned and serviced every single gun in the gun safe including the ones your dad has from his days in the army when if asked he was in supply but you know he knows why too many different things and people in odd places that he did not worked in logistics.

On the eleventh day your dad knocks on your door and calls for you to come down stairs, looking forward to something other then freeze dry rations you quickly wash and head down to find your dad making breakfast and that he is fully dressed in tac gear again but even more so. " Son we have a problem the government has reactivated me and I need to report to the closets military base for assignment, I cannot bring you with me and the bases are not safe anyway according to what I have been able to find out they are just giant store areas now every soldier is in the field trying to get a hand on this thing. The PSH dudes are tough to deal with, light arms just pisses them off its only the heavy stuff that puts them down and it takes more then it should for a human to die from as well even using heavy rounds".

Not sure what to say to any of this a part of you saw something like this coming but you thought you could go with your dad at least. " Look Joe they say the small towns are safer then the cities less chance of a horde of PSH forming so all you have to do is keep it in your pants young man and the doors locked ok. If things get really bad I will send you the bug out signal and you head to the cabin ok, they are picking me up in just over an hour". One hour later after saying goodbye and wishing your dad good luck a helicopter lands smack bang in the middle of the street and your dad dashes out and jumps on board. All you can do is watch it fly away and lock the house up even more and pray things get sorted out soon.
