Model

Jessica didn’t have a normal job. She was a model. Growing up, she had never really thought about doing anything like this. She had gone to college to study history, but one day during her freshman year, a man approached her on campus. He had introduced himself to her as a recruiter for a local modeling agency. Jessica had been totally surprised, but agreed to go to a photo shoot. One thing had led to another and here she was, trying to make a career out of it. She still hadn’t had her big break yet, but she had hope.

John hadn’t been happy of course. She hadn’t told him about her side job until they had been dating for a couple of months. He had been really impressed at the time. Jessica suspected that he had even bragged about dating a model to his friends, but he had expected her to stop after they got engaged. She had refused. That was one of the things that had caused their big fight a few weeks ago. Jessica had just started working for a new agency in town and John had not liked it one bit. He said the guy running the place was a creep who was just trying to get into her pants.

She shook her head to push away unpleasant memories, and focused on picking out an outfit. She had a big meeting today with the so-called “creep” Ben Sterling. She chose a pair of stylish dark low cut jeans, black boots, a white flowing tank top, and black leather jacket. She spent a great deal of time on her hair and make up. When she sat back form the mirror, Jessica couldn’t help but congratulate herself. She looked like a perfect blonde goddess with gently flowing hair and a simple, yet elegant outfit.

Outside, the rest of the apartment was empty and quiet. Did John leave without even talking to me? Jessica shook her head. She brought out her phone and texted John a short message saying good morning and apologizing for sleeping too late. Then she was off.
