Model campers don’t lie to their counselors

“Oh she’s right here. Like I said, Erica’s a shy one,” Carrie said, much to my horror.

“Well she doesn’t have any reason to be shy right now. Brent may be big, but we don’t bite,” Beth said. I heard Brent chuckle a bit.

“There was plenty of nibbling though last ni-OOOF!” Brent said, before getting cut off again by what I figured must be a very annoyed Beth. I got the feeling I knew where he was going with it though.

“ANYWAY...” Beth started, before letting out a frustrated sigh, “the point is Erica, you don’t have anything to worry about. So why don’t you give us a proper greeting like your friend Carrie here?”

Having her actually address me was even worse than just hearing them talk about me. I couldn’t believe Carrie had let them know I was here. I needed something to cover me. Her bags were too heavy to hold in front of me, and I was scared of what Carrie would do if I put them down to cover with my hands.
