Mistaken Identity

"Okay, so which one is Lauren?" The technician asked.

Without missing a beat, Angelica emphatically answered that she was Lauren. The technician wheeled her over and had Angelica slide onto the bed of the scanner. The technician removed her brace from her left ankle and had it scanned. The technician didn't pay attention to the X-ray itself since it wasn't his place to diagnose. He just collected the print and placed it with Lauren's chart. Before he wheeled Angelica back next to Lauren, she had something to say.

"I was talking to Angelica earlier, and she is faking. She'll no doubt tell you she is Lauren, but look at me. Do I look 16? Does SHE look 26? I think you know what's going on." Angelica said, smiling.

The technician nodded and went to get "Angelica". As the other girl stated, Lauren definitely protested being Angelica, but the technician wasn't having it. He was less than gentle when he placed her on the scanner, calling her a brat. When she squealed in pain, he figured she was overacting. He made sure to jerk her ankle when he removed her brace, just to see how committed to her story she was. He was astonished how good of an actress she was. He placed her brace back on and made it extra tight. When she was placed back on the gurney, he"accidentally" bumped her ankle. Lauren groaned, and he called her a big baby a he wheeled her back next to Angelica, who had a huge grin. The technician placed the X-ray in Angelica's chart and left to reset the machine.

The nurses returned and too their respective patient's chart and X-ray and examined the result as they collected their patient. Angelica's nurse apologized for not believing her, and took her to the treatment ward to get a cast. However, Lauren's nurse was rather dismayed and walked into the hallway after looking at her chart. Lauren waited and was shocked to see a group of men and women take her and wheel her down the hallway and out the door.

"What's going on?" Lauren asked.

"We don't tolerate Fakers here. You thought you could make us believe you since you can in naked and scared. You can walk home!" One of the nurses said.
They had wheeled Lauren outside, then pulled her to her feet, where Lauren immediately collapsed and screamed in pain as her ankle couldn't take the weight.

"Save the act, sister. We know you're taking. Just call someone to pick you up and never bother us again!" Another said as they walked back inside.

"But I'm naked!" Lauren wailed on the concrete.

"Maybe that'll help you hail a cab! Hahahaha!" One of the men said. After that, the door closed and she was alone.

Alone, naked, and with a broken ankle. What was she to do now?"
