Chapter 4 by alphakennyone alphakennyone

What did the doctor mean by that?

Mind transplant.

"I believe I can make it work," the overconfident surgeon kept saying, "I just need a patient."

Out of the four, your burnt-but-still-alive-in-the-head body was chosen to test on.

"Are you sure Doctor, these men don't have a lot of time on their hands," another skeptical doctor remarked.

"Just trust me," the doctor said, as your body and him disappeared into the emergency room. Once in the emergency room, the bed on which your limp body lay stopped and the surgeon went to a rather tall Asian nurse. "Is the subject ready?"

"Yes sir, just prepping for transplant," she said.

"Good, get the apparatus from out of the room," the surgeon ordered. Just then another surgeon, short and stocky in size, barged and literally frightened the nurse.

"I am sure you are making one big mistake, Fred," he called out in his dwarfness.

"Just watch Neville, this is magic in the making--do you have the apparatus."

"Yes doctor."

"Prep it and hook both the patient and new body," the surgeon said to his nurse.

Five minutes later, the nurse brought in what looked like a full-head dryer found in salon hooked up to a similar one by a think cord of fiber optic cables. At one end she meticulously place the cranium of your body into the helmet-like case. At the other end lay a very unusual specimen.

What lay at the other end of the apparatus?
