When Hunter saw the deer, she slowly reached for her stinger. So far, all she had to eat was Gohma meat, which wasn’t exactly filling, deer meat on the other hand. As she slowly approached the animal, she realized that it hadn’t noticed her, possibly because it was far too deep in its slumber. She walked up just behind the animal and razed her stinger just above its head. All she had to do was thrust downward, and she would have enough meat to last the next few days.

However, before she could stab the animal through the neck, she found herself staying her hand. Despite her hunger, she wasn’t the type of woman to kill a person in their sleep. Doing so to an animal felt just as bad. Grunting, she sheathed her stinger and stepped away from the animal. She would just have to sleep hungry for now.

While keeping the deer in sight, she moved over to a nearby tree and curled up between the roots.
