Chapter 27 by The Other Guy The Other Guy

To the library or right to training?

Maybe you should treat this seriously, and what is more serious than a library

"Lets go to the library." You say as the two of you walk out of the great hall.

"Cool." Emily says. "It's open for another hour or so, so we can grab some of the charm textbooks." There is a slight pause on her part that makes you look at her expectantly. "The charm is kinda ... advanced so it could take a while to figure it out."

From how she just said you ask something that could be a little rude. "Have you used it before?"

She laughs a little. "No. We were supposed to make something easy, Sarah just, well she has a specific interest." She's clearly making fun of her friend, you don't think it is anything other than good natured however so you let the slightly dirty grin on Emily's face spread to your own.

"What interest is that exactly?"

"Well lets just say she has two keen interests, one is history, the other is Wyvern girl of a historical heritage." She says that is a very conspiratorial tone but it goes completely over your head so you just grin at her hoping to not seem like an idiot.

The two of you make a little more small talk on your walk. You make sure to keep track of the turns you take, learning from your last few experiences. You actually note that the grotesques were looking a lot more wizened the further you walked to maybe they denoted more than just the house locations.

"You haven't been to the library before have you?" The question was punctuated by a turned corner that revealed a set of open double doors through which you could see stakes of bookcases.

"Ah no, haven't gotten around to it today. First day and all." You answer, the closer you get the more expansive the library gets.

"Seriously, classes don't take up that much time, and only a few are even mandatory."

You are trying to think of how to answer without saying, lots of sex. "Amarok has a lot of other things going on that I had to learn first." Which was actually true. And now that you think about it, if you had just said having lots of sex Emily probably wouldn't have batted an eye, not like you haven't seen plenty of people doing exactly that.

"Oh right. Soooo, what is an Amarok?"

That is a bigger question that you can answer, mostly because you don't even have an answer. "I'll get back to." You were trying to sound charming but it came out as just plain old unsure. You can't help but feel like you are lowering her expectations for you.

"Riiiggghhht."

Yep that was definitely the sound of expectations lowering. "So is there anything I need to know about the library?"

"The rules are pretty simple; don't take any books without permission; don't make too much noise; don't get any fluids on the books; and if you take a book out of a shelf don't try and put it back just leave it in a return tray."

It takes you a moment then you get your follow up. "What was the third one?"

"Just don't bring any drinks into the library with you, or food." You suddenly feel like your first day had a much more corruptive influence on you than you thought. "And don't get any cum on the books." You feel your mouth open for a second before Emily burst into a snorting laugh. "Ha your haha, your face, hahahaha!" She is really losing herself to the humour and you feel several eyes turn to look at the pair of you.

"Good one." You awkwardly try and laugh along with her to get some eyes off you.

"Hahaha hahah ha. Worth it." She finishes. "Ok lets go." She is very chipper now and practically skips into the library.

You follow behind her still feeling some eyes on you. She walks a but a head of you and you have to rush a little to catch up. She doesn't say anything and you take a moment to try and get some sense of the organizational structure. Whatever method they were using it was not the dewey decimal system.

"Ok here we are." Emily comes to an abrupt stop almost making you run into her. You look at the shelf she was browsing. There is no indication that this is where charms books are located. She grabs two books out and hands one to you.

"It's page one hundred and eight." She walks to a table and you join her opening the book and seeing a page titled.

Inhibition charm.

There is a short blurb that explains that the spell removes the targets inhibitions. You thought it would have been simple but the rest of the page does not actually contain any details of how to use or make the charm. Actually you don't know how to do that anyway sooo. You may have just found a slight problem with this otherwise flawless plan.

"So what now?" You ask having reread the page and still finding no instructions.

"Well we need to find out what sort of inhibition charm Sarah used, then how to cast it, then teach you to cast it, then get you to cast it." Emily seemed kinda happy about all this but you are suddenly wondering how this is going to take. You have a duel to get to innnnn.

"What time is it?"

Emily look up and you see a clock on the wall. "Seven thirty-ish. The library closes at eight thirty."

Four and a half hours and only one hour to do the study part. This may not have been a very good plan. Well time to try and get some study done then.

Study time or do you just cry uncle and try and think of something else?
