Maybe some type of armor?

First off, you should try to make some kind of armor. As a Mage there's not much you could equip, but you need something for your god-awful defense stat.

First off, you turn your 10 silk into 2 silk sheets. You put the sheets on the table and look at your options.

Basic white robes
+5 HP
+1 Def
+1 Mdf

Basic magicians white hat
+5 MP
+1 Mat

The choice is pretty simple. You have more then enough magic attack and MP and desperately need more defense and HP.

You go ahead and craft the Basic white robes.

You're not done yet though. You take out your iron and lay it next to the robes. It comes up with a few options. Most of them you can't equip, but one strikes your eye.

Lightly reinforced robes
+15 HP
+2 Def
+1 Mdf

It's a pretty good improvement. You choose to craft that, losing 2 iron and changing your robes from a white to a metallic grey.

You then grab your crystal shards and lay them on the crafting table.

Every option there costs 5 crystal shards. They're all a basic (element) crystal. Basic dark, basic light, etc. you choose the dark. The result is a dark purple crystal in the shape of a diamond. You take out your staff and lay it next to the crystal on the table.

One option pops up, however, you need a crystal orb to craft it. You place your lightly reinforced robes next to it and see a nice option.

+25 HP
+10 MP
+2 Def
+1 Mat
+2 Mdf

Dark damage dealt increased by 10%
Dark damage received reduced by 10%

You immediately hit craft and see the robes change to a dark purple with undertones of black.

Crafting level up!

LV 2
You now craft more efficiently and the material cost of recipes has decreased by 5%.

Well, it won't do much now, but it'll do more as you level it up.

You equip it and notice your default robes change to the ones you just made.
