Chapter 6
by Su Do Nim
Who comes in?
Masroora, her mother
The door swung open, but instead of her lovably-awkward friend, Sabiyya's mother entered. Sabiyya's arousal was instantly eradicated. She snapped her legs shut as quickly as possible to flee, but she had left herself in far too **** a position.
"Ah! Sabi! What are you doing?!" her mother shrieked, shielding her eyes from her nude daughter.
"Mom! What the hell are you doing home?" Sabiyya cried, her confusion almost totally drowned-out by her feelings of embarrassment and despair.
"Why are you naked?! Are you expecting someone? Who are you exposing yourself to?! Tell me now, Sabi!"
"Mom!" Sabiyya retreated to her room with all haste. She slammed the door and locked it behind her. She clumsily threw-on the first set of clothes she found.
The door knob rattled as her mother tried to enter.
"Sabi! Open this door! Who were you exposing yourself to?"
"No one, mom!"
"Open this door!"
"No!"
After a few more demands and denials, Masroora gave up.
"I'm going to give you some time to cool down, but don't you think we aren't going to discuss this!"
Sabiyya fell to her bed and covered her face. This couldn't be happening. What did she have to be such an idiot and put herself in such a precarious position? How was she ever going to live this down?
She stewed in her remorse and self-loathe for a while. Several hours passed before she accepted that she couldn't live out her humiliated existence in her bedroom. She had texted Vaidehi a while ago to cancel her invitation. Confusing for Vaidehi, certainly, but infinitely better that having her walk-in on this disaster.
Sabiyya hesitantly shuffled to the dining room where her mother sat. Masroora's face was the image of concern. She took a moment to weigh her words before speaking to her daughter.
"I'm sorry I saw you like that. Who were you waiting for like that?"
"Mom..."
"It's important to me, Sabi. I come home to find my daughter spread like a harlot-"
"Mom!"
"I'm sorry, but what else do you want me to say? You looked shameless like that."
Sabiyya buried her face in her hands with a groan. How was she supposed to defend her actions? They were stupid, but she had no reason to expect anyone but Vaidehi would come through that door.
"Why were you even home so early?"
"I wanted to come home for my lunch break," Masroora said sternly. "Not that you're in any position to be questioning me."
"You weren't supposed to be here."
"So tell me who was!"
"I'm not going to tell you that kind of thing," Sabiyya promised.
"Sabi, I'm your mother. I can't see what I saw and just dismiss it. If you're involved with someone who expects you to be _ready _for them at their faintest whim, I need to know about it. You're a smart girl, and old enough to make decisions about such things for yourself."
"Then why are you so worked-up about this?"
"I suppose I was jarred as much as anything. Who you are involved with is your business." Masroora gave her daughter a quizzical, sideways look. "So long as they are of good character and not some riffraff?"
"They are a good friend, mom. I trust them dearly."
Masroora nodded. "Boy or girl?"
"Mom."
"Alright, alright," Masroora raised her hands in resignation.
